Milling machine simulator

a really great game ! its fun and engaging.

When I first bought this game on a whim I knew nothing about machining, now I'm watching tutorials and saving up to buy a little mill. The devs are incredibly committed to making this simulator as high-quality and realistic as possible, bugs are often fixed the same day they are reported on the discord, and suggestions/feedback are taken seriously. Despite what other people have said, this game can absolutely be enjoyed without prior knowledge as long as you are willing to put in the effort to figure things out and learn from your mistakes.

Its great if you want to learn how to use a milling machine! However, I don´t really want to learn this right now since I don´t need this skill at the moment so... might pick it up again later... also the Tutorial was very bare-bones... Id love to have learned how to use automatic movement and stuff like that to make it easier on a novice.

The learning curve is quite steep at first I broke more s*** than I’d like to admit But once I got the hang of it it became really enjoyable

I bought this game while I have been in school to become a tool and die maker. I haven't played it a ton, but I'll pick it up every so often to help practice some fundamentals at home where I do not have to capability of getting on a real machine. The controls are a bit clunky and the UI is a little bit overwhelming at times. If you really sit down with it and get familiar with it I'm sure you would have no issues in making some of the pieces it has lined up for you in the career mode. It may just be me, but it seems the most intuitive to just use absolute measurements that way you can easily hit some of the tolerances in this simulator. I haven't messed around too much with the feeds and speeds in the game because in my limited experience they did not translate well to real life feeds and speeds. This is a bit moot though as for me this is more about workholding and making sure I have the right Idead before I go at it on a real machince. I personally have not played the CNC DLC yet, but look forward to it when I get to needing it. All in all I think this is better suited for someone who is interested in this field and knows what they're doing to a degree and using at as a tool more so than anyone would pick it up and have fun with it as a simulator knowing absolutely nothing about machining. 8.5/10

Very good CNC simulator. I just wanted to mill a simple slot. Now I apparently created modern art and the simulator calls it a “successful simulation”. The machine does exactly what you tell it to do. The only issue is: it seems to understand G-code better than I understand myself. Especially realistic is the moment you think “this should be fine”, and the simulator immediately replies with a very confident “no”. 10/10 would again turn metal into mathematical misunderstandings.
