Just a simple review to big up a small developer making some incredibly well designed (if slightly ugly) games. Played the first Militia and loved it so i bought this. I have other games by the same team that are also excellent. It's a tactics/puzzle game following a chess type ruleset. You get 3 pieces who all have different powers with the aim of killing the enemy units; specifically the "captains". It's randomly set up each time and the difficulty goes up as you win and decreases if you lose. Other people have described it better but just wanted to give a positive review as the game seems to be criminally underplayed by people and would love more people to play it and the other games. 8/10
An excellent turn-based tactics game that improves upon the original militia in every way. Quite possibly the best brain good game yet. It's a shame so few people have played it. I would highly recommend this game to anyone who enjoys Into The Breach. The game is very simple but also has plenty of depth. You begin on a randomized board of enemies with three units. Your goal is to kill all of the enemies with stars on them. It's a constant struggle of keeping your own units alive while also trying to finish off the enemies with stars before time runs out. The game pushes you to make the most of every turn. The game offers two modes to play in: Push World and Beam World. In push world your units are specialized around pushing enemies around the map. You can push them off the board or into ponds. There are also spikeballs on the map that you can push to knock out whole rows of enemies. Pushing your own units refreshes them which allows them to attack again. This really gives you the opportunity to stretch out every turn. In beam world your units are focused around shooting beams to kill enemies. Mirrors are spread around the map that you can use to make your beams hit further. Beams, like pushes, also refresh your units. So what are you waiting for? Get the game and try to rank up in the leaderboard because this game could really use some competition.

Puzzle game with a chess like twist. Quite entertaining!
So Militia 2 is a fun little game, you kill enemies, proceed through levels all in a turn based style type of movement. You command your troops in various different ways, just like the enemy as well. With Push world you push enemies of the edge or drop a spikeball on them (or move enemies or yourself on top of them). With Beam world you place mirrors and shoot the enemies to have various different effects, like taking away their importance or adding them, or killing them right after the shot hits a mirror. All in all an amazingly fun game with a lot challenge ready to be taken on!
Militia 1 and 2 are both great.
I rarely buy games when they are first released, BrainGoodGames are one of the very few developers from whom I buy games as soon as they are released. Militia is a nice upgrade from the first Militia. Simple, quick gameplay that I keep coming back to. At first it seemed like the game doesn't have much variety, but as you unlock new game modes and enemies there is lots of variety. The weekly challenge is great. Like the weekly challenge in Solar Settlers, it is something I plan to keep playing after I have reached the limit of my abilities with the other game modes.
Great game, somewhere between a mate-in-3 chess puzzle and a full game. No timer makes it a great at-work game in case you're pulled away.
Simple rules, phenomenally satisfying choices to make.
There are two main worlds, both are pretty fun. Weekly mode is a nice change of pace, the gameplay can vary alot depending on the pieces used. Really high ranks can often feel like rng spawn can screw you over. But you can get enough out of the game before you reach that point anyways.
It is a fast game, but the only thing you do every second playing it is thinking on you tactics. Great game!
