Browser Game, Pay2Win, Lags like Hell, Micro Transactions Critical Comments are gonna deleted and Users Banned in the Forums. There are tons of good F2P Games out there, where People like to spend their Money just to help the Devs, but this is such a horrible P2W Game, what did they expect puting this on Steam? Good Reviews?
You can't transfer your website account to the Steam platform, so all the dedicated players of this game will have to start from scratch. The developers want to force their player base to invest real money in their game again. Avoid.

I see an absolutely painful amount of potential here... Potential that has been completely and utterly ravaged by Free to play, pay to win mechanics. The microtransactions have taken this already struggling classic series and violated it in ways I can hardly express verbally. All I can say is, Why? ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ WHY? Another classic series ruined by this crap.... first ANNO and Settlers, and now this ♥♥♥♥? I just... I just cannot justify buying another Ubisoft game because of this. Rest in peace, Might & Magic. The proper way to play this game: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H81nak3eiLs
This isn't even pay to win, it's more like free to log in, pay to play. Basically everything in the game has to be bought with real money - units, resources, everything. You do get some resources and units for free, but so slowly that you won't be able to play more than a few minutes each day unless you're willing to pay. The game is designed completely about making you spend money. It's balanced so you can't avoid heavy loses and have to pay for units if you want to continue playing. Creatures' fighitng strength depends on your level as well, so there are no easy fights and you actually become weaker as you level up. The same fight that you won with 65 archers and 65 sentinels with moderate losses will be lost or result in heavy losses with 180 archers and 90 sentinels. Same with buildings. The upgrades are so expensive and provide so little that you won't ever want to build them except for a quest. Can't recommend. Try HOMM3 instead.
Actually this is the first negative review I have ever written on any games on Steams. I always thought if I don't like a game, it's alright--maybe someone else will like it. But I feel I need to stand up this time. Here is my terrible experience: 1. I couldn't launched the game without install Chrome even my Adobe Flash Player setting is fine. 2. After the game is launched, there is no buttons showing up to start the game. ONLY the stupid background. 3. Relaunched it a few times, finally something else showed up. After registering for name and everything and clicking play, guess what?--Blank page with notes "couldn't load plugin-in" showed up. 4. After researching the internet and the stuipd game forum, finding no results. I finally gave up.
What a terrible end to what was once a great game. They have turned Might and Magic into a P2W time waste. Its free to download but if you want to play more than once a week you better be ready to spend $50-$100 a month. Very ridiculous. Pure greed and not very good game play to boot. All based on trying to get you to make micro purchases. It is now equivalent to the dumb apps on your phone that try to scam you into buying gems to play more.
Where do I start? Only two factions to choose from, so if you don't like the humans or undead, too bad. Poorly optimised, with an annoying sidebar on the right. Linear gameplay, feels like a crappy alpha test of a real game. Walk down this path, click here, here, and here, done. Walk down this next path... You get the drift. Best thing about this game? That annoying sidebar has a button on the bottom to immediatly shut the game down without and prompts, it was great. This is a mockery of Heroes of Might and Magic, don't waste your time.
I managed to play 2 hours of this Ubisoft masterpiece! That is more than most reviewers so far. It was a complete waste of time. Microtransactions up your wazoo. It takes 55 minutes of real time to recruit archers, 4 minutes to build a town hall etc. Nothing interesting to explore or discover. No strategy except waste time or spend real world money. Fun: 0/10 The actual combat system could have been fun if the devs had bothered to make a real game instead a money leech to prey on suckers and kiddies. This game belongs on tablets or phones, not STEAM. It is an insult to the memory of HOMM. (For the true heroes experience, buy heroes 3 complete CD and play it on a windows XP computer instead.) The user agreement contains abusive clauses such as Ubisoft giving itself the right to request a copy of your passport or national ID card! You should read it!
Blue Byte spoils everything it touches. And i am deeply upset this ignorant lazy untalented developers spoiled the great Heroes of Might & Magic series. You killed amazing HOMM: Duels of champions and now you create this piece of ♥♥♥♥. I hope your company goes bankrupt and will never create new ♥♥♥♥♥♥ games.
I have only run this game on steam so that it would let me comment. I've accumulated a few tens of hours on it on the whatever it was platform that it used to be on. Ubisoftisomethingorother. Anyway, here's what you need to know about this game: It CAN be a fun time waster. Run around with your army, pit them against things, cast some spells and make the people fall down and all that. The combat mechanics are unabashedly lifted from previous might and magic heroes games and I don't have a problem with that. That makes sense. That works more or less fine. It's pretty much everything else that becomes or creates problems. Problems that they would prefer you throw real world money at to resolve. There are some very long wait timers for reinforcements in this game. On the order of days to replenish a completely decimated section of troops. Advanced troop options also cost special resources per troop, which you can only obtain a trickle of without shelling out the cash. To pervert a famous saying: all roads lead to your wallet. Now, I didn't just give up on the game immediately when I saw these problems, I went ahead and did what I could to get as far as I could stomach into the game. Which was near level 20. 17 I think? It's been a while since I gave up on this game. But if you want to maximize what you can do in it without shelling out the money, I would suggest playing a cleric. Get healing as soon as possible. Abuse healing. Healing spells in this game will resurrect dead troops. This is how I wound up with a sizable stockpile of basic troops, as I eventually reached a critical mass in my healing capabilities to keep from losing significant numbers of troops each day that I played. But this strategy does not work forever. As mentioned earlier, advanced troops cost special resources, and the only way to get those without handing over real world money is to do little daily quests that give you just a handful of, say, crystal each day. I'm not sure what the total amount might be at the end game, but where I was it was about 6 of this crystal attached to an annoying daily quest. 6 per day is not enough. Even with resurrections and very careful healing, you're going to lose more than 6 troops of any given kind in any given day. Further, at that slow rate, it's going to take you weeks to accumulate an entire troop of any given advanced soldier. I had a unit stack maximum of something like 120 or 135 or so. Trying to fill that on 6 per day seems like too much a fool's errand, too much an investment of time and efforts, to bother with for what payoff the game provides. The chat is not particularly good either, and it seemed very cumbersome to try and group up with any strangers as you might do in any other multiplayer game out there. So cumbersome, in fact, that I don't think I was ever actually in any combats with a player run team mate. If you want to play it, go in expecting it to try and get at your wallet and steel yourself against the obvious tactics employed to do so. It can be fun for fooling around in, but I wouldn't make the mistake of taking the game seriously or investing in it. Edit: To be perfectly clear- when I meant that it Can be a fun time waster, I meant for a few hours or so at best each day. And only if you already like the combat style of previous heroes of might and magic games. I've noticed in other reviews that people mention the awful build timers, and I will confirm that those take in the area of day(s) to resolve and they only get longer as you progress. Furthermore, they require basic resources like wood and gold. This wouldn't be much of a problem, but the only passive means of gaining either is a very drop in the bucket trickle. Which necessitates grinding for both, through combat, to build the buildings that you need to get the troop reinforcements that you need to do the combat that you need to get the resources that you need to build the buildings that you need to....you get the idea. At low level I could see it being a very vicious cycle if you didn't immediately pick up healing and abuse the hell out of it constantly.
