Therian Saga is a MMORPG that tries to stand out of the crowd by offering a compelling storytelling surrounded by a massive mathematical set of rules that define the world your hero will evolve in. It could be said that it borrows elements from old-time MUD games, strategy games and even tabletops RPG.
Revenue comes from in-game items and microtransactions, which our price-based model doesn't estimate. Copies below reflect the player base, not paid sales.

A much better name for this game is "The Waiting Game". No wonder there are so few players!
This deserves a meh, but its binary. So what you do is pick a class get past tutorial do class related stuff and then there I am doing class related stuff and it is taking 30 minutes. I have 23 hours in the game, i still am gathering rabbits.
QUICK REVIEW : Therian Saga is a “waiting simulator” disguised as a free-to-play RPG, half tabletop, half browser game. It tries to be a cosy, relaxing pastime for a niche of players, focused on narrative and progression; however, every action is dictated by the clock and the game revolves around click a few buttons and waiting for dozens of minutes or hours to reach the objectives. It has few interesting ideas (like the deep crafting system) and could be a small gem, but the excessive waiting and grinding, the empty servers and the total abandon from the developers turn the game into a tedious, boring and generally negative experience.
✦ ᴏᴠᴇʀᴀʟʟ ʀᴀᴛɪɴɢ : 5.2 ✦

❖ ɢᴀᴍᴇᴘʟᴀʏ : 4.9
We are free to choose our own path as a combatant or artisan, raising skills to craft gear, build structures, and complete quests. However, the gameplay is essentially a "waiting simulator" where actions take anywhere from minutes to months. While the 8-task queue allows offline progression, it reduces active gameplay to just a few clicks a day. Every aspect of the gameplay, from brewing potions to making building, follow very tedious processes, usually revolving spending days to gather materials and months to build a simple empty house. Progression is long and irksome. Raising skills is based on random chances calculated on recipes or enemies difficulty; skills values are calculated on our top five related elements, so different items and companions can be useful for different tasks, but the more we go on, the more our progression depends on "lucky factors" than real choices. The gridless inventory is quite messy and organising dozens of items is a nightmare. The player market should be the core of the game, but it's often empty and forces players into immense solo grinding. The combat is a simple turn-based system, minimal, reduced to a single mouse click, undertone compared to other similar games and often requires hours of waiting just to heal. As a free-to-play, in-game shop and premium currency are present. Prices are low, but we need to buy many items if we want to speed up things.
🕮 ɴᴀʀʀᴀᴛɪᴠᴇ : 6.0
The lore is delivered through flavor text and quest descriptions, giving every location and character a sense of purpose. However, do not expect book-quality writing; it is a low-budget narrative that relies heavily on typical fantasy clichés and occasional plot holes. Furthermore, the plot progresses at a painfully slow pace because it is heavily gated behind hundreds of hours of real-time waiting.
⌬ ᴀᴇꜱᴛʜᴇᴛɪᴄ : 6.3
The visuals are the game's strongest attribute, featuring detailed, hand-drawn artwork that creates a relaxing, cheerful, and cosy atmosphere. Unfortunately, the sprites are entirely static with no animations. The user interface also suffers from severe scaling issues on modern screen resolutions, frequently causing text/images to overflow or critical buttons to disappear entirely.
♬ ꜱᴏᴜɴᴅ : 6.1
The soundtrack provides a lovely, cozy backdrop for all the menu clicking and becomes appropriately engaging during combat. However, the audio suffers from a major lack of variety. The game would heavily benefit from a wider selection of music tracks and sound effects to prevent the experience from feeling repetitive.
⚔︎ ᴄʜᴀʟʟᴇɴɢᴇ : 2.9
The ultimate challenge here is patience, as all progression is dictated by time. The game leaves hundreds of complex parameters unexplained, meaning new players can easily waste dozens of hours pursuing a progression path only to realize it was a complete dead end. The biggest obstacle the absence of players, which turn a cooperative crafting experience into a solitary, tedious waiting game. Therian Saga is a slow game. Know that Therian Saga was released more than 10 years ago. The gaming market was very different from the current one. So, be patient. Therian Saga is worth your time if you like exploring, doing quests, travelling, looking for equipment and items, going to dungeons and reading the story.
