Fun little game with some issues. Purchased this game for the vibes and it delivers on that. Not much to complain about since it only cost $2, but there are a couple of things that could use fixing. The main issue is the controls. As of writing this, the game uses WASD to control the car, but W and S are move the car right and left, while A and D move it up and down. For a side-scroller, this feels really counter-intuitive, and I ended up crashing into stuff a lot because my muscle memory from every other game of this type kept telling me to push W or S for up and down, and A or D for left or right. If we could be given the option to switch the controls, it would make the game MUCH more playable. Some other issues: the "select your weapon" screen is extremely zoomed in or something for me, and only one weapon is fully visible. I can tell there's at least one other option off to the side, but it's only about 25% visible on the screen, and takes a crazy amount of clicking to try and select it. If there are more than that, I wouldn't be able to tell you. There's no way to scroll around this screen that I can find. Other than that, I might be missing something, but... I played a few rounds of Arcade mode and after a while would just suddenly be told I was "wasted" even though nothing seemed to cause that. Are we supposed to shoot at the cops? One time I got the "wasted" notification just after shooting at a police car. Not super clear on the rules of this one. Anyway, with a couple of fixes, this game should be plenty of fun and definitely worth the money.
this garbage is not needed even for free

Gameplay is decent with some bugs, but this guy definitely passes the vibe check. The game soundtracks and the mixing were done well. Worth to try.
Miami Horizon 2077 is an indie arcade action game developed by CJ and published by Outofthematrix that channels the spirit of retro driving games and crime-themed arcade experiences into a compact, fast-paced package. Set in a stylized futuristic version of Miami, the game presents players with a simple but energetic premise: you are a small-time criminal trying to build a reputation through daring robberies while constantly evading relentless police pursuits. Instead of delivering a large open-world adventure or story-driven campaign, the game focuses on short, intense gameplay sessions where survival, quick reflexes, and strategic upgrades determine how long you can stay ahead of the law. The core gameplay loop begins immediately after a robbery has been committed. The player jumps behind the wheel and must escape from pursuing police vehicles while navigating busy streets filled with obstacles, traffic, and environmental hazards. The longer the player manages to survive the chase, the greater the reward becomes. Successfully escaping with the stolen cash allows the player to keep the money and invest it in upgrades that improve future runs. This structure creates a satisfying risk-and-reward dynamic where every attempt feels meaningful. Players are constantly deciding whether to play cautiously and survive longer or take risky maneuvers that might lead to greater rewards. The driving mechanics themselves are designed with accessibility in mind. Controls are simple and responsive, making it easy for players to immediately understand how to steer, accelerate, and dodge incoming threats. However, mastering the game requires sharp reflexes and situational awareness. Police vehicles can appear from multiple directions, road hazards can block escape routes, and traffic may suddenly complicate an otherwise safe path. Because the action unfolds quickly, players must constantly react to new obstacles and adjust their movement in real time. This creates an arcade-style rhythm where each run becomes a fast-moving challenge that rewards practice and quick thinking. One of the game’s strongest elements is its progression system. The money earned from successful escapes can be used to unlock a variety of upgrades that change how the game is played. These upgrades include faster vehicles, improved handling, offensive abilities, and various enhancements that increase survivability during intense pursuits. Some upgrades allow players to temporarily disable pursuing police vehicles or gain bursts of speed that help create distance during critical moments. Over time, players can experiment with different combinations of vehicles and upgrades, gradually refining their strategy for surviving longer chases. Visually, Miami Horizon 2077 adopts a colorful retro-inspired aesthetic that blends neon cyberpunk imagery with classic arcade design. The futuristic streets of Miami are filled with glowing lights, stylized vehicles, and vibrant environments that capture the spirit of retro action games. Rather than aiming for realism, the visual style focuses on clarity and energy, ensuring that players can easily identify hazards and incoming threats even when the screen becomes crowded with activity. The neon color palette and simplified graphics give the game a distinct personality that fits perfectly with its arcade gameplay. Sound design also contributes to the game’s atmosphere. The soundtrack leans into synth-inspired tones that complement the futuristic city setting and maintain a sense of momentum throughout each chase. Players can also interact with the in-game radio while driving, selecting different music tracks that accompany their high-speed escape. This feature adds a playful touch to the experience, reinforcing the feeling of racing through a stylized cyberpunk city while sirens echo in the distance. Another interesting aspect of the game is the inclusion of boss encounters, which break up the regular rhythm of police chases. These encounters introduce unique enemies or vehicles that require a different approach compared to standard pursuits. Instead of simply dodging traffic and escaping police cars, players must actively engage with these tougher opponents and survive specialized challenges. While these battles are relatively simple in design, they add some welcome variety to the overall gameplay loop and help prevent the experience from becoming entirely repetitive. Despite its entertaining design, the game does have some limitations typical of smaller indie projects. The overall scope is fairly modest, and the gameplay mechanics do not evolve dramatically over time. After several runs, players may notice that the structure of each chase remains largely the same, with the primary variation coming from upgrades and player performance. For those looking for deep narrative elements or complex mechanics, the game may feel somewhat limited in its long-term depth. However, what Miami Horizon 2077 does offer is a polished and enjoyable arcade experience that captures the thrill of high-speed escapes in a simple and accessible format. The short run-based structure makes it ideal for quick gaming sessions, and the upgrade system provides enough progression to keep players returning for additional attempts. The retro visuals, energetic soundtrack, and fast-paced gameplay combine to create an experience that feels nostalgic while still offering modern replayability. Overall, Miami Horizon 2077 stands as a fun and stylish indie arcade game that successfully delivers on its premise of chaotic police chases in a futuristic city. Its straightforward mechanics, replayable structure, and neon-inspired presentation give it a distinctive charm, even if its scope remains relatively small. Players who enjoy retro-style driving games and fast arcade action will likely find plenty of enjoyment in its quick, adrenaline-filled runs. Rating: 7/10
Something different mixing the pixel graphics and Retrowave vibes. Gameplay is fun and challenging.
