Charts
Each storefront's own chart, in its own country — the closest public signal to sales where none is published. A country missing from a list is one we don't collect there, not one where the game doesn't chart.
No United States chart position — it charts only in the markets below.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 55/day in the week to Aug 28 → 71.14/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 23 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 14 places towards #1, and the 2,515 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.
About
The extreme tension of infiltrating without being detected.
Metal Gear series, the pinnacle of “stealth action” where you avoid combat and complete missions while hiding.
The game take place 10 years after METAL GEAR SOLID 3: Snake Eater.
Amidst the swirling conspiracies behind the East-West Cold War, Snake confronts them while leading a private military force.
This is the story of how one soldier, “Snake”, becomes “Big Boss”.
【STORY】
THE ILLUSION OF PEACE FALTERS
In 1964, after saving the world from all-out nuclear war, Naked Snake, a true hero, receives the name Big Boss, but he disappears shortly after the naming ceremony.
Ten years later, Big Boss is running an independent military unit in Columbia, when he is visited by two individuals from Costa Rica, a country without a military.
In a post-Cuban Missile Crisis world, and in a Central America essential to maintaining the power balance between East and West, Costa Rica has been miraculously able to maintain peace.
However, a mysterious armed group has been seen acting suspiciously throughout the region.
They request Big Boss to investigate and eliminate the armed group.
Though he hesitates to accept the request because the tape they brought contained the voice of The Boss, who was supposed to be dead.

Game CTDs on certain cutscenes. Renaming the ../MLG/data/Mov and ../MLG/data/hqMov folders gets you past the CTD in the intro mission, but doesn't solve the CTD when you rescue Chico. There are about five playable missions between, not counting the extra shooting range missions. There is no Wine setting for the suggestion high-quality video device fix, and worse on my hardware when I set Crossover to high-res graphics mode, the launcher works, and the game loads, but it completely ignores ALL input, so either way I'm forced to use Original graphics. I am 100% certain that is caused by a PSP speciality media codec that isn't used in all of the cutscenes, but has no adequte failover instructions in modern installations, CTDs report a Page Fault. I expect some pushback telling me to 'just buy a windows machine, machead' but since I'm running under Wine and the Linux crowd is getting better and better supported these days while we try to starve Slop-Pilot out of gaming, it is worth looking at. Not shown in system specs: Running Steam under Crossover 26.3 under MacOS Tahoe 26.6.2.

LONG LIVE MSF
This game definitely has a certain aesthetic. I've never played this game on PS Vita, but it does feel very easy on KB/M; aiming and headshotting is pretty easy. I didn't realize how much of this game MGSV:TPP borrowed. This game feels a lot like it, though I prefer this one's Jungle/forest environments over a lot of the environments in V. Slamming people against a wall with CQC and watching them slide down it is something I did not know I needed. It is a bit weird not being able to drag people in a chokehold or crawl though. I also did not enjoy how hard it was to solo the first tank boss fight; I had to stealth it and then tranq the commander, because the LAW RPG just doesn't feel strong enough. The cutscenes are kind of cool, but I find myself zoning out during most of the dialogue in this game. I also dislike how you have to find a lot of design specs for developable weapons & equipment in the field, especially since there is no list of where things are or what you have found. Fun MGS game!
