Modeled estimate, not a reported figure. How we estimate →
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 322.75/day in the week to Jul 15 → 6.57/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 23 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 14 places towards #1, and the 2,515 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Amazing
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️10/10

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Aug 31: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

The classic, masterpiece of a generation
It's a classic.

I'd only ever watched this game, I've never played it for myself. This was the most exciting entry for me to play as my primary exposure to Metal Gear was Metal Gear Solid 4, and a fair bit of 5, the Phantom Pain, but that one didn't have as much story importance whereas Guns of the Patriots had many callbacks to this game, which had always made me curious for myself what was so special. And boy do I get it. It holds up really well with my only two complaints being that being spotted feels impossible to get rid of; and the other 'downside' being that I didn't see the use for some of the tools at your disposal. Aside from those very minor gripes, the game is incredible. More than that for me I loved hearing where some soundtracks that played in Guns of the Patriots came from, it adds depth to that game for me. And while I knew a lot of the bosses in this game, playing it for myself is something else and I can only imagine what it was like when the game initially released-looking at you Psycho Mantis. I strongly recommend anyone interested in the Metal Gear franchise who may have only played The Phantom Pain or even Revengeance to play this one. I do think every entrance is great, but this one lays the groundwork for so much and was still very enjoyable to play with mild Metroidvania elements and unique story objectives that utilize both the technology of the game and what would have been real world elements to solve puzzles or fight bosses, again making me jealous of what the original experience of playing this game must have been like. I'm excited to go and play Metal Gear Solid 2 & 3 after this as I've only played 2 for myself and didn't appreciate it way back when; and Snake Eater probably being my favorite just from having watched it. I'd also like to play the original Metal Gear 1 & 2 specifically after playing this, but I'll admit I'm not as interested in those as the others.
