Modeled estimate, not a reported figure. How we estimate →
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 23 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 14 places towards #1, and the 2,515 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Aug 31: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

Metal Gear Solid 2 is another absolute classic and, in many ways, one of the most daring sequels ever created. While the gameplay expanded on everything that made the original great with new stealth mechanics, improved AI, and more interactive environments, it's the story that people still discuss over twenty years later. Without spoiling anything, the game features one of the most infamous plot twists in gaming history. What initially looks like a straightforward sequel gradually turns into something completely unexpected, eventually becoming a fascinating commentary on information control, digital media, censorship, and how people consume information online. It's honestly surprising how many of its themes feel even more relevant today than they did back in 2001. The PC version in the Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection had a fairly rough first year. While Konami significantly improved MGS1 and MGS3 with major updates, MGS2 still lacks official hd textures, making it feel like the least polished game in the trilogy. Fortunately, the modding community once again stepped in. MGSHDFix is an absolute must-have. It fixes numerous issues that originally appeared in Bluepoint's HD Collection on Xbox 360 and carried over into later releases. It also adds proper widescreen support, including 21:9 ultrawide. I do recommend stretching the UI (not locking UI to 16:9 checkbox) as well when using ultrawide, otherwise I encountered a few visual glitches during my playthrough. There are more improvments and I recommended to check it all. Two other essential mods are MGS2MC Better Audio Mod, which noticeably improves the sound quality, and MGS2 Community Bugfix Compilation. Besides fixing numerous issues, it also offers optional 4K texture packs that make the game look significantly cleaner on modern displays. Metal Gear Solid 2 remains one of Kojima's greatest achievements. The Master Collection version is finally in decent shape, but just like MGS1, it reaches its full potential only after installing a few community-made fixes. Pros: + Fantastic stealth gameplay with expanded mechanics + One of the most memorable plot twists in gaming + Story feels surprisingly relevant even today + Excellent level design and boss fights Cons: - MGS2 received fewer official improvements than MGS1 and MGS3 - Still lacks official HD textures - Mods are highly recommended for the best experience
