Meme Town, what is a Meme Town if not an idea? A concept? A monolith of excess? A meme town is more than any and all of these things combined, it is the soul of a nation, the heart of a people, the final frontier of resistance against a looming daunting threat. I think that this game excellently and masterfully explores the deep psychological motivations of the middle class to fight back against oppression in a community being crushed by a massive wealth transfer under the thumb of an elite and uncaring ruling class. The cultists of the forest may appear on surface to be a standard doomsday cult, plotting the end of the world for their no real reason other than to sit atop the ash piles as all that remains, I however have a different theory. I believe whole heartedly and unwaveringly that the cult of the forest has been secretly fighting back against the corporation expansions of the meme man and the mainstream religious cult using a fascinating and innovating form of socialist based nature anarchism. Now this may sound a little hard to believe, outlandish and absurd in fact, but think are we truly a society of civilized men of we cannot step back a moment to examine our own beliefs? Just think about it for a moment with me, where does the meme man live? A castle. How did the meme man acquire this wealth? We actually don't get a very solid answer in the game, but we do have a couple of ideas about where it didn't come from. For starters, meme man lives in his own separate dimension that only he can inhabit, away from the filthy poors and lessers of Meme Town as he no doubt sees it. Meme man has no limbs to perform manual labor so it would not possible for him to have 🚩CODE PHRASE SECRET CODE PHRASE🚩 somehow leveraged his apparent immortality in order to translate his physical labor and service to his community into long term wealth over several thousands of years. So, if meme man has no way to directly interact with the economy given his seclusion, and he cannot perform manual labor anyway even if he could, and furthermore I do not believe they allow magical floating talking heads to interact with the stock market, I believe that the only real way meme man could have amassed his immense fortune would be hostile corporate takeovers. Which corporations am I alleging that meme man took over? All of them. Meme man intentionally sewed seeds of chaos and disorder among the good people of meme town by fabricating the end of the world, which in turn pushed outside investment opportunities away from the town, out of fear of its eventually collapse, this is why the government has barricaded meme town with invisible walls to keep all the occupants quarantined in preparation for the destruction of meme town, but it was all a hoax. You see, by cutting off outside funding from pouring into Meme Town, meme man managed to cause all active corporations, shops, and businesses of any kind to have severely undervalued assets. Meme man then colluded with private equity to perform leveraged buyouts of 51% of these companies, after the buyout was complete, meme man stripped all of their assets and sold them off in their entirety. Meme man single handled decimated the economy of meme town in a ruthless guerilla business campaign of fear and distrust, so much so that only one store manages to stand amongst the dust and ruin. The men of the forest resist this oppression, they fight against meme man and his evils, and although they too spread the lies of destruction which seems to ceaselessly permeate among the whispers and shadows of Meme Town, they do not truly mean it, for it is a front to save them from the ire of meme man whilst they work to undermine him. They have been pulling members out of the society, growing in number, getting stronger, escaping the evils of meme man, and I am already with them as we speak, typing from the bond fire of revolution, this will be my last contact with the outside world for a short time, for soon we march on meme man.
