[th]MY RATING:[/th] [th] ✔ ✔ ✔ ✘ ✘ ✘ ✘ ✘ ✘ ✘ [/th] [th]3 / 10[/th]

Loverowind is a “Poetic" Walking Sim by Tonguç Bodur, which is known for its inexpensive and often visually appealing games. Compared to many of his other games, this one didn't really convince me. The game starts in a corridor in a building that looks like a castle. These corridors and the building itself seem empty, quite lifeless and somehow very simple and ugly. At that moment I was already unsure why the whole building, with nothing to see or anything great to do, had to be “so big” at all. And once you've made it outside by using a spiral staircase, things look a little better. At least at first. In the game, in addition to this "Castle", there are a total of two areas that you visit one after the other and which are mainly distinguished by different colors. What is immediately noticeable here is that light areas are too light and dark areas are much too dark. Strictly speaking, the fields are relatively barren except for the grass and flower soil. Here and there there is a tree or a building like an old mill. But somehow there isn't anything really worth seeing. The whole game isn't really that beautiful, let alone rich in detail, and the exploration is very long-winded, boring and there's just no atmosphere. Even when you use the highest graphics settings, everything looks a bit grainy and blurry. There are brightly glowing orbs everywhere that are there solely to boost yourself. For this reason, you are mainly concerned with getting from one orb to the next in order to get to your goal faster. Well, there isn't really anything else to see anyway... Except for this little pond or watercourse perhaps. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3108422115&tscn=1702042899 But I cut out half of the picture because all the glowing orbs and rays of light coming from the sky everywhere in the background were disturbing. If you want to take a closer look at what I mean, the Community Hub has a few pictures available. For whatever reason, the game has a so-called “challenge” option that you can turn off or on. If you have activated this option, there are moving light rays in the areas that, when they “catch you”, slow you down to a standstill until the light rays have not moved any further. If there was an achievement like “Don’t let the rays of light catch you,” then I might get something out of it. But since you're not really moving fast despite the orbs anyway, the whole thing makes absolutely no sense to me. What the game is about is explained quite quickly. You collect a glowing flower from somewhere and then bring it to an altar somewhere else in the area. Once you have done this you will get to read a short poem. You can then try to catch a green (slime?) pile or ball and then go back into the “castle”, use the spiral staircase again and start the whole thing over again with the other area. The only thing I found somewhat relaxing about the game was the soft and harmonious soundtrack consisting of piano pieces. But it's not the case that it changes somehow and actually just becomes background noise. Something additional from nature would definitely have fit in here, although that in itself wouldn't have changed anything about the game. So if you don't expect much and just want to fly around for half an hour, you can't go wrong with the game and the price. On top of that, there are 7 achievements that are easy to get. The only problem is that the game currently still has the status “Profile Features limited”, so the game and the achievements are not included in your game statistics. If you want to fly a little more and have fun, or are looking for a little more challenge and freedom of discovery, you should take a look at Flower. The game is more expensive, but also much better.
it's a game that costs little and maybe that's the only positive thing there is. 2 areas: The house, really ugly graphically and devoid of details The external area, varies in 2 colors, poor and there is nothing to observe. Buying this game does not affect the statistics of the "completed games" of steam. Would I recommend it? Mmm no. 5/10

Introduction:
Behold here a game that has no appeal beyond the short time it takes to 100% the 7 achievements. It is fighting to be among the most boring walking simulators made – and would be, were it not for the fact it is mercifully short. With a non-existent story, unimpressive visuals, a mediocre soundtrack and totally uninspired gameplay, Loverowind does nothing to capture the atmosphere of spring. Go outside instead. The graphics are lovely this time of year.
Visuals:
Loverowind seemed like it had no theme in its visual style. You start in a building where the few assets around were not visually consistent (some are ugly and bold, like the fire brazier things, others were worn and muted). The building was bigger than it had to be, and felt empty and soulless. Outside, there are two different fields where the rest of the game is set. They have different colour palettes – neither very appealing to my taste. Lighting was sometimes harsh; dark areas were too dark, and light areas were overblown. Environment textures were poor by today’s standards and not in a way that felt styled, but rather simply low-quality. Colour was bold and ugly, or washed out – it never got it right. Both fields were barren apart from a floor of grass and flowers dotted by trees which didn’t cover the view distance (they faded in as you moved), and less than a handful of landmarks like a mill, some alter-like things, and a pond. Loverowind was fairly unappealing, with poorly detailed environments making exploration pointless and tedious. It failed to capture much of an atmosphere and overall felt amateur and lazily put together. I was playing this on ultra graphics and everything looked just a bit grainy or blurry, and the view distances were marred by glowing orbs all over, which serve as power-ups, making you walk faster.
Gameplay:
In gameplay, Loverowind nothing worthy of commendation. You rotate some stairs, you pick up some glowing flowers on opposite sides of the map, click on those alters I mentioned, chase a green ball, and go back into the castle/cave thing. No context or reason is given for this. Little fun is to be had from doing it.
Audio:
The soundtrack was fine as soundtracks go – it was a soft, peaceful piano piece, but it was neither memorable or moving. It would, over a better game, have captured the dreamy weightlessness that one might feel walking in nature, but here it was just background noise that will be forgotten as soon as you exit.
Story:
There is no story conveyed in this Loverowind. You find yourself inexplicably in a room, connected by a cave-like corridor to what looks a bit like a castle. You emerge from the side of a mountain, run around an empty, soulless valley twice completing non-sensical, and mind-numbingly easy ‘puzzles’, and then you watch a short cutscene that makes no sense before the game ends.
Conclusion:
The only reason I can think of to recommend Loverowind is the short time it takes to 100%, to help boost your profile completion rate. Except its profile features are limited by Steam because it hasn’t met certain engagement metrics, so until it does, it’s not even useful for that. The piano music might be nice, but you can find better on YouTube for free. And so I am left, regrettably, with a simple conclusion to perhaps my briefest review yet. There’s no reason to buy this. It fails, audibly and visually, to capture the experience of wind in spring in any meaningful, moving, or memorable way. In this game you are the wind. Do you know what it's like to be the wind? Try this! Beautiful graphics and minor ambiguities pt. "where should I go now and what should I do now?" It's a good game and based on an interesting idea, but there are no revelations in it. Generally recommended!
EZ achievements
Fantastic experience, but too short. I wouldn't call this experience a game even though you interact and move around, however there are no real story or complex game play included. Would recommend people to try anyways.
What does that title even mean? What am I supposed to do? Why is wind stored in glowing orbs? Why are there wandering lights and why do they stop my movement? Why am I chasing a huge neon green orb across the meadow? Why is "challenge mode" ON by default and what does it do? I have so many questions and I don't really care about getting any of them answered. Rage quit because I couldn't get out of the field with the stupid lights. Apparently my very tedious progress wasn't saved, so I'm not coming back. * * * If you like chill and story-driven games, check out my curator Peaceful Adventures and Stories.
