I would rather play candy crush instead.
"Melody's Melon Mania" is a ripoff of a simple browser game called "Suika", where you drop various fruit into a container aiming to connect two bits of fruit to create a larger type of fruit, which is not how agriculture works. It looks here like the "developer" just ripped off a template/tutorial for making a Suika clone and dumped some anime girl head pictures onto it. Extremely lazy, pointless stuff with a bunch of fake reviews, too. The game features really lacklustre 2D visuals (does the developer not know 3D graphics became mainstream in the mid-1990s?). Gamers don't spend thousands of dollars on gaming rigs to pretend they're mobile phones or Commodore 64s. Insultingly, the developer insists that you should play this with a console peasant children's toy gamepad instead of KB+M. Developers should try to be aware which platform they're designing games for. It's the responsibility of the developer to ensure the game runs well on the platform they're selling it on, with the primary peripherals that PC gamers use. This is "free" enough, at least you won't be expected to spend any more money after you download this, but just because something is free doesn't mean it's good. Even though this is "free", it failed to appeal to the 120 million+ gamers on Steam. SteamDB showed the game peaked at less than 100 concurrent players, they couldn't even break three figures, and now there's basically nobody playing it. Even though it's free. This is a dismal public reception, but it's easy to see why gamers rejected it. It's important to note that, despite this being such a low quality product, there's a number of positive reviews that all appeared immediately after the game launched, from suspiciously inactive Steam accounts that have reviewed almost no other games apart from this. On a purely unrelated note, recent US FTC rulings mean that review manipulation and fake reviews are now federal crimes. Interesting, isn't it? Regardless... take the review score of this game with a grain of salt. Bearing in mind that free games don't add +1 to your game collector count, should you bother adding this to your library and downloading it? Nope. This isn't worth downloading. While this didn't cost me any money up front, I still feel ripped off.

I'm not good at this game but Projekt Melody rocks.
A suika game clone, not terrible but not unique. The only character I recognize is the headline one Projekt Melody from Vshojo. The most unique features to this version are the level of bouncy-ness drops get physics wise and a little bit of give time at the top, causing two items to combine may more may not cause all of the items to fling around like a popcorn machine. The combo counter isn't timed and goes up every time you get a match and down every time you drop something that doesn't matches so you can take your own pace. The biggest downsides to this version is there isn't a lot of give or rolling when you drop an item they tend to stay where they land until a popcorn event and with their awkward shapes they often end up at angles instead of rolling and galling into gaps they would clearly fit into with even a slight rotational give. The game does have steam achievements but many of them are probably unrealistic and not achievable, there is no way to save a run and the developer admits they are only theoretically possible because it would take a 12+ hour run to get some of them without failing, let that say what you want about the 3% of players that have all of the achievements with less than 12 hours playtime. While the game only has one game mode it's free so there is nothing really to complain about. If you want to kill some time on a suika game clone and like anime girls, Projekt Melody, or Vshojo there is no reason not to give this one a chance for free.
