Megafortress Collection

One of the most unique flight sims/games you'll ever play. While it is, at its core, a flight sim, it's primarily a stealth management and evasion sim, as you'll be spending much of your time at the various stations plotting routes around radar sites, jamming radars, and shooting at targets. It's an astounding game that everyone interested in combat flight sims should own. Edit: Don't let my low play time fool you, I played this for hundreds of hours back in the day. The campaigns are brutal, but worth it. ;) That said, this collection is currently incomplete. It's missing the manuals for the two expansion packs, Operations Sledgehammer and Skymaster. I've written to Ziggurat in the hopes that they will correct this grievous error.

I got this game a month ago but haven't played it yet until today as I write this review (AW... SHAME ON ME!!!) This is an oldschool gem I loved to play with my father. I also have an uncle who flew the B-52 in Nam and Desert Storm. Did this for real I think he may have also flown in Libya! I love this game! Its like Dangerous waters with the Orion. Very similar to F-19 TOO!!

Played the original "Megafortress" when it was first released 32 years ago - STILL LOVE IT!

This game would be awesome if it was remade with todays graphics

It's great to see this old classic trilogy updated for modern machines and bundled into one package at such a great price. A 180 page manual tells you all you need to know about the level of attention to detail herein. Yes, it looks dated but it's still an awesome study sim of all the crew positions and what they do in combat. Lots of campaigns with dozens of missions and a mission editor to boot. The fact that it's based on one of my favourite techno thrillers from back in the day, Flight of the Old Dog (Dale Brown), is gravy for the goose.

More systems simulation than stick and throttle game, Megafortress Collection is an old sim that still finds itself being playable to this day. It's a compelling sim about a fictional B-52 variant dubbed "The Old Dog" as portrayed in Dale Brown's "Flight of the Old Dog." Yeah, this is from when devs made game adaptations of books. You are not an air superiority fighter, you are to avoid enemies, radar, and SAMs by relying on the EB-52's EW suite and low altitude capabilities. Yes, this is very much a 90s vision of a Cold War mission set and it's glorious. You'll be switching between pilot, copilot, navigator, EWO, and WSO to get the job done. For 8 bucks, it's great. In fact, if you want a sim on the go, this would be a good fit for a laptop. Expect no advanced flight model and you'll be good to go. It's from '91, what did you expect? Effort? Yeah, there's effort. So, it's fun.

One of the most unique flight sims ever made. Played this back in the day. It's absolutely amazing. Needs a modern remake with coop to man the various stations and maybe add the B-1 and B-2........
