Lucky me gets to write the first English review for Medieval Hero. Medieval Hero is a "template flip", that is to say, it's a "game" that has been produced by copying a game template from GameMaker Studio, changing a few things, then dumping the barely functional "product" on Steam as a cheap, nasty cash grab. In this case it was a GameMaker Studio template for doing a simple retro platformer game. It's been dumped on Steam by Enoops, who are known asset flippers. GameMaker Studio is a very poor quality game construction kit, and results in terrible games like this one. No professional effort was made in terms of game development, using a game construction kit requires no game development talent, and unsurprisingly produces products that have little to no value as games, especially when compared to the work of professional developers who create genuine products for gamers. It's almost as bad as an outright asset flip. This is nothing but a lazy, greedy cash grab and should be avoided. An important note: Enoops are known asset flippers and have previously taken other developers work and put it on Steam in an attempt to scam gamers and get paid for someone else's effort. One example of Enoops doing this is Book of Shadows, which is really the "Polygon Western - Low Poly 3D Art Pack" asset, written by the actual developers, Synty Studios. Asset flips are harmful to the gaming industry. They're nothing but cash grabs, and they harm genuine indie developers by reducing their visibility on Steam. Because this game has all the same low quality as an asset flip, as well as the other problems with it, it's impossible to recommend.
Do like some of the character designs but everything else is awful. I got it for free from Game site, feel like I was robbed. This and by the looks of it everything this "dev" pollutes steam with is just bought assets. It takes time and skill to make a game. Trying to make a terrible game first, that should be your goal because you way off.
When opening Medieval Hero, the first thing you might feel off the bat is confusion at a lack of menu options to start the game, continue the game, adjust settings and so on. The menu options are actually there, but you can't see them because the text is pure white on a white background. This persists for much the UI/HUD elements for the early levels, and the rest of the game doesn't make up for this error.
Actually pretty decent content, maybe a little boring, but the game has potential, if devs will put enough updates and new content, because the game is now one run and uninstall type of game, and achievements were impossible to miss, i play games like this to think all the time where might be a secret etc. But for now i have mostly nothing negative about the game, oh actually i have, the white letters on main menu really dont go well with the background, they blend in and its hard to see. But yeah as I said, game could be way more than it is, even tho i enjoyed playing it, i would like to have new updates or a next part with better graphics, maybe even fun puzzles or really challanging bosses etc, because it feels empty, this game is missing something, talking about challange - this game is very easy, i got bored and speed run it when i was halfway through. So i would like it to be more challanging in the future. Im just giving tips, ofcourse i have made video games by myself too, and this is where i started with a game like this, and mine was way worse, so i predict devs are young in programming world so i gave them a chance, i like to support people and i will keep to do so. Conclusion: Buy this if you are interested, or just want to play something random, but the game is short pretty much.
Simple 2D platformer where you kill your enemies in the Middle Ages, the graphics are cool, and the gameplay is interesting with a variety of different enemies
A platformer that's easy to get started with. It's easy enough to figure it out. There are a lot of levels. You can fight or jump over monsters. Bats somehow very unpleasantly chase the player. I wish they worked a little differently. It's nice to see the presence of in-game achievements.
Fun game, but need to work on the animations
good dynamic platformer. Game for a couple of hours
Wow, wow, I felt the urge to take on the role of a medieval knight. All sorts of impurities will stand in my way! For example skeletons, ghosts, other hostile knights, goblins, bats and many others. The game also has bosses and dynamic music. Show me a real man - buy the game right now and play it without losing your life!
This is the most ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ass game I have ever seen, this ♥♥♥♥ looks like a 2d flash minecraft ripoff, it is not fun at all, I would not be surprised if an autistic dog made this game.
