厚重感。
Interet : 15/20 Realisation : 15/20
really cool aesthetic but let down by poor level design. it's basically just go forward and shoot stuff. random dodge here and there and some minor jumping every now and then required. I'm sure it can get more frantic on harder difficulties but I don't think I can be bothered to check them out. Worthy playing for the aesthetic alone though. the lack of a crt filter is pretty much blasphemous at this point in games like this. 6/10
Good game. Feels like Probotector but with mechs.
I love the controls on this game, yes you'll have to set the control layout on a way that it feels intuitive for you, so there will be some trial and error until you find what works best for you, after that it's all about the gameplay which is very smooth, the things you can do in this game, you feel like a complete bad ass, although I have to say that the game is pretty easy on normal difficulty, you'll beat it in your first session if you stick to it. Then the real challenge is on a 1CC, after that, hard difficulty is where the party truly is as the enemies attack faster and with more bullets, I don't think there's more enemies on screen, doesn't seem like it but the hectic array of bullets makes you feel like that is the case and I love it!!! I haven't played the higher difficulties yet but I'm planning on it, just wanted to say how good this game is, how is worth every penny, even if not on sale, this game is worth it in spades if you enjoy mech stuff like this, I certainly dude and this is one of the best mech games I've played, if you're an old school player like myself you'll be in mech heaven, guaranteed!
Mechblaze feels like a return to Astro Port's origins, while also fully embracing the convoluted continuity set game after game. It's a clear spiritual successor to one of their earliest games, Gigantic Army, forsaking the more modern elements of Steel Strider to return to a Valken/Cybernator mech. It's however set before either of those, taking place parallel to Armed Seven, and even directly involves Vulkaiser - it's like a Gundam series where suddenly Mazinger is involved, but Japan has had Super Robot Wars for decades so… Hiroko Nakaya, an important character in a few other games, here assists the player, and is established (or rather retconned) to be a background character in Vulkaiser and Meglilo; a cutscene in the latter game is also reframed in a more serious way, in light of the development of Nakaya throughout the timeline. The mech feels heavy yet maneuverable as it should, and it now comes with unlimited dashing for no more frustration when traversing long stretches of terrain. The shield, while essential to survive some tricky situations, can't be used indefinitely and eventually breaks, with no chances of recovering it until the end of the level. A few weapons aren't available from the beginning and require certain conditions to be unlocked; fortunately it doesn't take much to get the flamethrower, one of the best weapons to use despite its short range. There is a button to hold the aim while moving but it's also possible to have it done by just keeping the fire button pressed, a choice that, along with having the dash performed with either a dedicated button or with a double tap forward or backwards, I greatly appreciated because it allows to concentrate on maneuvering and defending. In some sections the mech takes flight and it's much more maneuverable than in Steel Strider, in a clear callback to Armed Seven. Shame that once again, weapons can be set up only at the beginning, with no chances to change the loadout between missions. The Astro Port visual style keeps being refined, nothing new in their expertise at making great mecha designs and huge bosses that are the more satisfying to see when reduced to smoking piles of metal, but I've been surprised by the level of detail of the backgrounds too. Explosions look good, as does the flamethrower. It even manages to have the first boss of Vulkaiser redone in this style (with an in-universe justification to boot), and Vulkaiser itself looks distinct yet not out of place when it appears. While not especially elaborate, the levels offer a tightly paced combination of pure action, bosses, and some platforming; even health and ammunition pickups feel perfectly placed. The lack of any timer during levels made me hope this could be longer but while lasting more than Gigantic Army, it's also shorter than Steel Strider. Maybe it's an observation due to the price, higher than previous Astro Saga releases, or maybe just because I wanted more from the game as I enjoyed it so much. Once again the story could use better exposition, given the lore built by jumping back and forth in the timeline, but I've gotten used to that and it should always be considered accessory. I may have been hasty to judge Zangeki Warp as the best Astro Port game, because Mechblaze comes closely tied.
Very nice game, its a mix between Astro ports other games, STEEL STRIDER and GIGANTIC ARMY. It shares the movement of Gigantic army with Level saving and a limited selection of weapons like in Steel Strider. Its very fun. The movement may be weird at first, but I set it up to play on my controller with nearly Identical controls to Gigantic army, and with some getting used to you'll be sliding around and slinging bullets wherever. The new guns are good, story is fine, and the levels are pretty good too. It doesnt do anything new, its just a retro style mech sidescroller like the other two games but mashed together, but its still good.
i have managed to beat the game twice in the 2.5 hours mark, it was really good however it could use some more content, extremally short campaign tells the player to try new game+ because of bonus weapon unlocks but after all is unlocked there is nothing more waiting, i need more of this kind of games because i had lots of fun playing it, i REALLY wish that the game was longer!
