In Mars Colony: Frontier you can learn the hard way what life would be like if you were stranded on the red planet. In this open-world simulator, you assume the role of an astronaut who has been sent on a mission to Mars only to have turmoil on Earth extend your stay indefinitely.

I thought that this game would be good, but I was wrong. The controls are hard to get used to, including the fact that I have to hold on the right mouse button to change where my character is looking. Changing keybindings is also quite hard to do as actions can have multiple keys assigned with no visible designation of which key is the primary one and which is the secondary key for that action. I also found that the graphics are OK, but it is quite wierd seening NPCs around that all appear shorter than the character. To me, this doens't help, because the player can look over NPCs. As well as these, I find it a bit disturbing that NPCs are in the smae position and the player's character cannot interact with them.
is in ortnug
thanks for the great games and a great role as teacher. sadly he left us on December 24, 2025 after longer health issues
Only bad thing i found - Ctrl+B does NOTHING! Inside my base\Outside my base\In the main base - NOTHING! I tried to reboot, to switch main lang to English, apply compitability settings and what? NOTHING! Win10 x64, cpu - pentium g4620(Not Shure about 4620) 3.7 GHz, RAM - 8GB DDR4 2333MHz, GT710 2GB (Some times Overclocked, Sometimes - not) HDD 320GB (~20GB-free), MB - AsRock h110m-dgs. I`m out!
It would have been a good game if there were some updates. But since I bought it about 3,5 years ago nothing changed and I don't think it will get better with time. Some tasks need too much effort because of the lack of or downright bad programming. It also gets very boring and some tasks are just too labour intensive like you have to drag your mouse from place to place just to get some minerals from one container to another instead of a button or shortcut. Also being able to only hold 8 things in inventory is not enough and you spend hours running around your base if you don't build it careful enough as you can't change your base layout after it is build. It's really a shame, as the idea of the game is actually really good.
Although unpolished, this is a very good game if you want a relatively realistic simulation of how it would be like to live in a Martian colony. Graphics are barely acceptable, and the UI is less than perfect, but the gameplay is solid. I came to this one after Mars One and Mars Colony: Challenger. This one is easier to play compared to those two but I also recommend them. Mars One is freely available on the developer's website.
Boring, ugly and not a second fun.
Entwicklung gestoppt Totes Game....
It's sad when this is nw the second game this developer has made thats been unreliable when it comes to bug updates. Last update was last December. I would say HyperKat Games is completely unreliable and should not be allowed to disappoint the Steam community with any more "annoyances".
