Still love this game after so many years. Wish the story would continue.
Sad as it is to see it never finished, this game is amazing. It's always, always, ALWAYS been my favorite Flash RPG, ever since I was young. You really wouldn't think it, but there's almost no lag, barring one specific spell, on the higher graphical settings. This is a fully-featured RPG, complete with an intricate menu system, on, let me repeat, FLASH. The skill required to code something like this on such a language has to be insane. There's also some projects, of note, that are attempting to continue the game's story! Personally, I'd recommend "Project Nineveh", as the other major project I've seen seems to have stopped development due to toxicity and bigotry among some of the higher staff. I wouldn't really know the specifics, as I looked into it far after this had taken place, but, just figure it's important to note.

If a game aged like fine wine, this would be it. This game had a major influence in my childhood to the point where nothing can replicate the fun I had. I would always go back to it even when my browser files got wiped. If Mardek was released on Steam earlier, it would have gathered an insane following. Mardek, in my opinion, is a love letter to classic RPGs. It takes all the good elements of it and combined together to make this. The fact that I still remember parts of the story despite not thinking about in over 19 years really shows how much it influenced me. I've waited for a sequel to Chapter 3 so badly but reading through his blog posts at the time, it wasn't going to happen. My only hope is that the reimagining of this game would be equally as good as the classic.
meta de vida é ficar milionário e poder bancar uma nova vida pra esse incrível mundo de mardek.
A very nostalgic time capsule into 2010. The humor is great, the characters are deep, and the lore of the world is vast. Grinding is fun, and while the combat is basic at first, it quickly develops into having great strategy. I just wish it didn't end so abruptly, but I understand that a 4th chapter was impossible. Can't wait to see what else the developer has to share.
The 07-2010 nostalgia hits hard. Even though you can still play this game for free through flash it's 100% worth the price. I would have paid at least double to re-experience MARDEK in it's original form after all these years.
I've loved this game since it came out, even with the old multi-key reaction system. This game has been a reminder of just how much focused effort can produce something great. I rate it just below FFVI and tales of symphonia for best classic style rpgs of all time. It has heart, story and an amazing setting. The dreamscape itself is a beautiful bit of lore that really opens up the world and poses interesting thoughts. The unfinished stories of the characters will always be a sore spot for me, but that won't stop me from recommending it to anyone that asks. The one big thing i miss is the achievements on kongregate. I had the psychosomatic exhaustion badge and had the high score for a bit and it would be cool if steam had something similar at some point. Far play to pseudo, he did a great job. 10/10
