Its a fun bite sized game for a few bucks, just get it and enjoy.
It's fun, simple, and the puzzles take some trial and error.
Part of the fun of Metroid and similar games is filling out that minimap. Maptroid and the original flash game took the concept to the core. No jumping, no combat, just map and some puzzles and finding the hidden stuff to let you reach other areas like flashlights and teleporters. I'm going to admit it won't be for everyone even with the low entry price tag and multiple alternate modes of play. But it is honestly a quick bit of fun.
Game's metroid, but only map traversal. It comes with a few perks and bonuses. Game was made with speed running in mind, and it's cheeeeeap!
It's a fun enough little distraction, with some built-in side modes and optional challenges. It's not super deep, but it doesn't last long enough to get stale. If you're in the mood for a minimalist metroidvania, you could do far worse.
I found this game to be very relaxing. The main game and minor story modes are nice, and even though it is short, it is a good game to play whenever you need a break from reality.
Reminds me of the day a childhood friend bought a used Game Boy and it came with a cartridge that he played for five minutes, deemed it boring and then gave it away to me. The game was Metroid II: Return of Samus. I didn't know about the series, or the genre it created, I went in blind and was enthralled. Maptroid: Worlds compresses the essence of Metroid into a cube, something that could work on a TI-83 graphics calculator, with your schoolmates wondering why you're playing that boring game again, there's nothing happening?? But you would know better. No jumping and shooting, yeah, but there still is an adventure, a small galaxy to discover. Bonus point for me: I adore "map painting" in any game, be it an open world racer where you colour in the roads or a dungeon crawler.
Metroidvania experimentado apenas por exploração de mapas. Pegue itens de acesso e se transporte para novas áreas ou planetas. Bem curto, mas tem 2 minigames, modo difícil e speedrun depois do jogo.
It's a fun little game, could definitely use some more expansion in the main story but it has other play modes too. But for the price it's only $3 for half an hour, that's pretty reasonable.
One of the most unique takes on the Metriodvania genre I have ever played. Not only is your map your best friend in this game, but it IS the game! Short, smart, and lots of fun!
