About
Mango is a surrealist first-person adventure/puzzle game about art and derealization, featuring
* trippy, psychedelic visuals
* intense psychological and philosophical undertones
* fragmented, lore-rich storytelling
* experimental horror elements
* and last but not least, an overarching feeling of NEVER knowing what to expect.
It explores the idea of a mind losing its grasp with reality, as reality turns into a dream, and that dream turns into a nightmare. It has an off-kilter tone that can shift from overly chill to downright scary. Often it resembles an acid trip, or an interactive fever dream.
The game contains ~8 hours of gameplay with lots of freaky action, even more freaky fashion, deconstructed urban landscapes and/or dreamscapes, existential angst, questionable parenting, a bit of driving, and a fair load of straight-up madness.
It has been described as simultaneously dadaist and hyper-realist in nature, both alien and also deeply human, as well as the story of a life, filtered through the eyes of the mind.
Also, it has been described as WEIRD as hell ;)

It's just weird. It's intriguing at first, but takes too long, with too little variation. I got lost in it for a while. Got high as the developer was when they made it, and had a reasonably interesting time. I only voted negative, as I don't think it deserves to be "Very positive". I'd say "Mixed", at best. £2 is a good price for the strange one-off experience. No more though. I'd like to see this developer do something with more money and a larger team. The more psychedelic sections are interesting and unique. I just wish the bits inbetween didn't feel quite such the slog.
I was initially turned off by this game, often with games like this I prefer if they start grounded and work their way up to the more weird surreal stuff. Here it feels like it's firing on all cylinders from the very start. But what won me back is that it maintains that energy through the full 4 hours I played it. Despite the strong start it manages to keep upping the ante all the way through to the end. And through all that there's still bits of meaning to be parsed from all of it. I'd recommend it with the caveat that the price is a bit steep for the length- I'd wait for a sale. But even with that in mind this is definitely one of the better games of this specific breed of trippy walking sim.
eh it was alright, I didn't get far because the sprinting didn't work and it annoyed me to much to continue, I did like the design and do think the rest of the game could be fun.
interesting game, creative visuals. i feel like it didn`t need any of the enemies in there tho since they`re kinda changing the vibe too much? overall still a fun experience so go for it (:
I've been playing this Dev's games in a reverse order, played two others. This is the weirdest and mentally hardest to go through. Constant puzzles and mind bending sounds and visuals, it is exhausting! A little too much in my case but I can guarantee, you've never played anything like this!
this game scared me a lot of time those pop out when i had the headphones loud
