Random generation of maps can be insanely annoying because it can lock you out of doing things. But I do really love this game it is especially enjoyable multiplayer

Decent, fun game to play with your friends if you really enjoy extraction "friendslop" games. Most similar to Lethal Company in terms of gameplay loop, though it trades horror and difficulty for weird dreamscapes, simple NPC interactions, and collectables. The game is at its best when you don't know all the mechanics and your trying to figure them out with your friends. Once you figure out the mechanics and the best strategies for looting levels, the game becomes quite easy even on hard mode. since you can chose where to go you end up going to the easiest, quickest levels as the game stops scaling surprisingly fast. This might be on purpose though, as the game quickly becomes a collectathon where your trying to fill out journal entries and rescue NPCs as opposed to trying to reach the highest levels. This game lives or dies on its aesthetic. If you dont like weird early pc game jank, ps1 graphics, and liminal dreamscapes then the game wont be worth it. The game is also quite buggy, not in game breaking ways but in little annoying ways. REPO and Lethal Company are definitely better games, but if youve already played those games and want more then this isnt a bad pick up on sale with friends.

in my venture for games like jazzpunk or ena dream bbq I have found this game!! The artstyle can be disorienting but when you start playing it gets really charming, compared to games that take itself really seriously or feel corporate this games style is a breath of fresh air. While some call this game "friendslop" i call it really fun for friend groups who are looking for something new. there are so many curses to find, skins and angels to collect that it lends an immense replay value. Coming into this new had me and my friends bursting out laughing while playing and that's really special to me. I haven't played lethal company or repo, so I don't know if the comparisons are true. However the vibe of this game feels really distinct, especially since mama's is more horror centered with a lot of the enemies theming. I would say it's definitely worth the purchase if you want a new fun, scary game to play with your friends, but if you're apprehensive you can wait til its on sale (which i got for $6 with the summer sale)
