I started playing the game with HIGH expectations, and this game DID NOT DISSAPOINT AT ALL. The depth of the story... the puzzle variations and difficulty… WOW!! This also makes a really good stream game because of how short it is (you can finish the game in one stream, depending on how fast you solve the puzzles). My community was very engaged the whole time!! This game also has voice acting, fresh storyline, and familiar yet refreshing puzzle variations! Definitely a very underrated game, and it’s such a wonder how this game is free?!?!?!
I went in expecting a fun visual novel full of puzzles and came out heartbroken. The story is beautifully written and paced in such a way that the reveals get you in the gut. The voice acting is phenomenal, and the art is gorgeous. The puzzles are interesting and a couple really got me good even on medium difficulty. I couldn't even be that mad when I'd mess something up because the different failure results were so funny. I was hooked from the jump and never lost interest. I genuinely cannot believe this game is free to play. If you like puzzles, snappy writing, and emotional punches, please please please play malViolence.

Played this and its prequel on stream. Highly recommend! Much more of a game than protoViolence (the Danganronpa influence is pretty clear haha), with great puzzles and cool characters and story! I'm glad there was a difficulty slider for the puzzles, since some of them were def to hard for me! But they were all very unique and clever ^_^ So yeah, go play this!
I love puzzles of all kinds, and the puzzles in this game were *top notch*! I am used to doing puzzle games on hard with no sweat but this was actually complex and I loved every minute of it. I highly recommend this one if you enjoy things like Danganronpa and Zero's Escape!
Short yet emotional! The 2d art is really eye-catching, the music is fun and fitting, and the voice acting is really well done I'm not really good at the puzzles, buuuut I think that's just a skill issue on my part lol.. They're fun but I'm a bit of a dum dum when it comes to stuff like this But yeah I really enjoyed myself with this! Def gonna be checking out the prequel and the next game when it comes out.
I enjoy the puzzles. Normal difficulty's engaging and if you enjoy solving puzzles and want something more challenging, hard difficulty's actually pretty satisfying once I managed to solve them. You can freely swap difficulty within the game if you find the puzzles too difficult, which is nice. If you'd like an idea how many puzzles to expect;
Each room has at least 3-4 puzzles (including the door to move to the next room), there'll be a total of 4 rooms (First room has only 1 puzzle).
There seem to be some bug though (that still persists even after restarting the game) where some of the dialogue would auto skip a second after it appeared before I could finish reading so I had to often open up the history log. None of the settings seem to be the reason for this auto-skip, I've tried.
A clever little sci-fi visual novel with fun escape room puzzles, memorable characters, and multiple endings. The story keeps you hooked, the presentation is polished, and it's especially impressive for a free game. Definitely worth checking out if you enjoy puzzle-heavy VNs.
A simple concept, yet with great delivery, the story can even surpass the most unique concepts of all. This is a prime example of that. You can tell everything, from characters to puzzles, are made with passion, love and care. The gameplay is very self explanatory - puzzles and visual novels. However, the ability to choose your own difficulty is something that isn't common within puzzle games. From when the game boots up to solving all the puzzles, you can tell they have put lots of consideration and made it so anyone who has different range of skills and disability can enjoy their experiences without worrying about being soft-locked. The story isn't rocket science and it's easily consumed by anyone. However, the writing itself makes you fall in love with the characters
Can we just all adopt Cautionne and keep him happy? (and away from yknow preferably)
and makes you want to know more about the world they've crafted. The characters are charming. None are overly baring yet most have very distinctive personality. The balance between humor and seriousness is phenomenal. The jokes fits so well yet it doesn't break the seriousness of what they are trying to show.
Personally, I think the joking aspect is also part of showing off Cautionne's personality and struggles. By using humor and playfulness, he masks himself to seem very carefree. However, ESPECIALLY AFTER THE GOOD ENDING, it fully convinced me that it is his way of griefing
If you are looking for a good story and great character building, this is for you.
I was contacted by the dev to check out the game and found the artstyle really captivating. The story was great! Characters were interesting and lovable and the voice acting was amazing too. Overall enjoyable play! The puzzles were interesting and fun, though some posed quite a challenge (mostly bc i'm a bit incompetent) but there's easier/harder levels and guides certainly helped. And if puzzles aren't your thing either you can skip them (which was very useful when trying to get the different endings). So if anything, definitely give it a try for the story even if you're not a puzzle person!
