About
Who Broke The Sacred Sequence?
Make Moku Proud is a psychological horror visual novel where masked raiders gather in silence... drawing numbered stones to conduct a sacred chant. If it works, their raid succeeds... But If it breaks… everything collapses.
Tonight, something goes wrong... The chant must remain pure, but somebody or something broke it.
Why Are Raiders Disappearing One By One?
When the ritual fails, Moku issues a correction. The raiders need to go through The Room... Whatever happens there is the source of much debate.
The Witness Is Exempt...?
You are Veko — the Witness. As the Witness you have special powers that you can use in the case the sacred sequence fails. But will you use those powers? Or maybe there's something else you need to consider...
The Sacred Sequence Must Always Be Obeyed?
As it becomes clear that the sequence has been broken, it's natural to question the morality and effectiveness of the sacred sequence itself. But maybe you shouldn't ask too many questions... Sometimes you should just obey.
What Does It Really Mean to Make Moku Proud?
The rituals exist in Moku’s name. The chants. The rules... Everything. Maybe it's not so much about who broke the ritual, but what does it mean to make Moku proud?
Short (~30 minute) psychological horror visual novel built around ritual and guilt... as well as moral hesitation.
Choice-driven dialogue that shapes how Veko responds to the collapsing sequence, leading to three distinct endings.
Minimalist, atmospheric presentation inspired by gothic and grunge aesthetics.
Haunting soundtrack blending ritualistic melodies and gritty sound effects.
A ritual world where faith, authority, and silence become their own kind of horror.

Once again VAINSANE makes a game that creates more questions than it answers, and it's hard to tell if leaving the game ambiguous was better than providing more context, but who am I to question the great Mokusane, I am just a number, raider number 4, you make nonsense, and I still ask for more. So I guess you will be releasing a 20-minute game every 2 weeks now? For how long? Will I have 26 Vainsane games every year? Oh well, I say go for it. It's almost like the dev gave up making longer games, and instead now we get these tiny creative ideas, not sure how I feel about it, but they are only $1-2, so I guess it's like an episodic and equally disconnected series of psychological experiments now. Thematically I was looking forward to playing the game, not even sure why, maybe I just liked the design of the character and the mood, and yet, the narrative and the visuals don't really go together that well, from little that I understood, they are like a cult of raiders, following warlord Moku that is perceived to have godlike abilities, but the main character wears some maid dress despite being like a second in command, I don't even know what to call it, do they all go into battle dressed like that? (maybe it's a like Nier thing, you have to look good when fighting) The game explains basically next to nothing, all we know is that they are devoted followers of Moku, they perform a chant as a tradition, and those who don't follow it, get called into a room for unknown purpose. The main character is a "witness" which I guess is like the most devoted follower that is given some leadership, but after many years of blind devotion, the character is starting to have doubts about keeping up with the faith. Supposedly there are 3 endings but I guess I could not tell the difference between 2 of them. I don't mind the game being ambiguous, although overall I felt like there was not a lot of visual variety, this game runs purely on vibes, there were very few art panels or locations, not as much 3D scenery, 1 dull ending that does not say anything, and another ending that is completely up for speculation. So in the end, it's like hmm, what did we get from it, whatever you want to imagine I guess, anything is possible with that amount of context.
Pros:
(+) I like all the odd ideas you have recently for the games, if nothing else they are different, but at the same time, the game kinda leaves everything up for debate, there is not enough context to say anything concrete about what happened (+) The mood in VainSane games is always enjoyable, it has that foreboding tone to it, and you can feel the tension as the character is making difficult choices
Feedback:
"Endings" - you had more art / variety for endings in some of your previous games, and now we get almost nothing, and honestly I find it very disappointing, the endings that really don't have any visual stimulation, okay you get that 1 short 3D scene, and not even a panel for the other one, that is ##### nothing, I am not even talking about the narrative, when I finish visual novels I want to see "nice art" ending panels. Overall Thoughts: 6/10 I don't know, I mean I liked the concept going into it, it's just kinda leaves everything for interpretation to a point where there is nothing for me to add, the game could mean literally anything for all I know. The mood was good, the dev always delivers on that, personally I wanted better endings, even if it's just the visuals and not context, the game is like a tasty bite of something you will never get to finish eating. It's almost like the dev keeps ragebaiting me into thinking that I will play something epic, he sets it up, the world starts to feel interesting, and done, the game is over.
exactly as it says on the tin/bag. short psychological horror vn. (i personally found this story and seeing each ending entertaining. but overall not as satisfying as the other stories by this studio due to
the pure fact that this is a story about not really knowing anything. no answers are really given (or i'm just not smart enough to interpret ritual/cult style stories lol) and that kind of unknown mystery is a nice ending in itself.
but ya know, just personal tastes)
Has to be one of my favorites but all this developer's games are good! Pros 1. Very good art and sound 2. Excellent Story 3. Good Writing 4. Fascinating 5. Thrilling 6. Psychological Cons 1. It's short 2. It's kind of blasphemous but I am just letting you know. I believe in good stories and I don't judge fictional anime characters.
