I find the game really interesting, and I love the plot so far. Its fairly difficult to progress through, you have to actually put yourself there and think throught the situation as if you were actually there. With the added style of a text adventure it keeps you on your toes with grammar and spelling, which is actually quite fun. The game probably Isn't for everyone being a text adventure and all, but its definitely a well made game thats quite interesting once you figure it out. Personally I love reading so this really appeals to me. With that being said, it probably Isn't for everyone, but you should at least try it before you brush it off as another boring game. Edit: So 4 days later, playing it on and off throughout the day, I've beat the game. It's definitly more immersive than I initially anticipated, but the plot left me hanging at the end. Someone should just insert some text between the main passages and sell it as an actual book, it would be a tad short though. (Sorry the review Isn't very organized =P) TL;DR: Try it, its fun and free! Anyways, great game and 10/10 - Would get shipwrecked again!
It's short but good. Simple. Nice music. A word of advice if you decide to download this game: use "examine" on absolutely every noun. Also note that instead of sentences like "go down the cliff" or "go into the cabin" you just type "go cliff" or "go cabin". And under no circumstance may you take off your pants. Apparently the developer isn't a fan of No Pants Fridays. They must work in one very boring office...

Great concept, but abysmal execution. Extremely tedious and essentially impossible to actually progress the story without a walkthrough. For every decision or action the player can make, there are seemingly several options, except most of the time the logical action is prohibited for no particular reason, and you're forced to cycle through all the possible actions in order to find which one will actually advance the story. Many times, the allowed action is either not hinted to in any way so you have to find it by chance, or it's specifically suggested in previous steps that the action is impossible or illogical. For example [spoilers?] the first time you look at or try to move the dinghy, it specifically states that it's too heavy for you to move by yourself, and doesn't give you the chance to try. Later after you're severely injured, the game finally allows you to move and unload the dinghy, but then it's raining too hard and you never get into it, and once the rain stops it's full of water which you're apparently unable to do anything about. Maybe I just made the wrong choices along the way (20 minutes in I got completely stuck, as in zero actions were allowed, and had to use a walkthrough posted in the discussion forum), but given how restrictive the allowed actions are and how you're often not allowed to do the straightforward action [spoilers] like serach the captain's body for the desk key until you've inexplicably used the rope and hook to climb into the crow's nest for the whiskey first. If you can enter the sick bay and examine the captain's body without the whiskey, why on earth is it required to have the whiskey in order to do the single additional step of searching his pockets? Perhaps altering the narration to HINT to the player that you require a whiskey-soaked kerchief to even enter the sick bay would be a clue, but I got the exact same narration for when I did versus did not have the whiskey, right up until the part where not having it meant I could stand in the sick bay room forever examining everying except the body I was standing directly in front of. How was I supposed to know that walking into and standing in a smelly room looking at stuff for 10min was fine, but if I wanted to make a single hand movement in that room, I needed to leave and find some whiskey to cover my face first? And why does the nightstand ONLY contain a candle the first time I look into it, but DAYS later it magically contains additional items? This game could seriously be improved by maintaining logical consistency (if you tell me the dinghy is too heavy to move on Day 1, why is it possible to move it days later when injured?) and some hints as to what order actions need to be performed in order to advance the story.

Not within my usual scope of games that I play, but after a little trial and error and figuring out what the different commands were and how they worked, this turned out to be quite a fun little game. It took me about 2 hours to complete in its entirety, counting the fact that it crashed before a save was ever produced so I had to play through a little over half on memory. Fun little game, the price is right, what have you got to lose?
You need some time at first to understand how the game works and how to get the story to start but it's a quite nice novel-like text-game and I would definitely put more time in it. You basically input keywords, in order for the story to continue. So, yes it's an interactive novel. That's why there's only one way for the story to proceed, which is a little annoying because you have to predict what's the next action that you should do, instead of just trying random actions and having different results and endings.
Overall a let down. The interactivity is very limited by the fact that the path you must take is one and only one, and often counterintuitive so that I had to spend time trying all the options more than using my imagination. The fact that you can indeed do some wrong things which stop you from finishing the game doesn't help. I ended up looking at solutions more than once, and I wish I had done it before because one action I had taken towards the start stopped me from finishing the game. The writing is nice but nothing I'd call home about, I feel it could have been a nicer game if more flexible.

This game is an anti-climactic waste of time. You'll spend a couple of hours trying to figure out the exact right way to phrase things to do the only series of events that will make anything happen, during which a few intriguing details begin to pull you into the illusion that there's a plot or a point to this. Then, without solving anything, discovering anything, bettering your situation, or accomplishing anything, you die suddenly and inexplicably, the end. Maybe if you knew you were going in to the game to live out the last couple of days of a dying man, that'd be one thing. But you begin searching for tools, making things happen, exploring an island, almost as if there's like, ya know, a GAME going on here. The designer changed his mind like, a tenth of the way though and decided to just randomly end it all. No sense, no closure, and nothing of value to be gained. This game is like your last relationship. You'll commit yourself, work at it, become invested in it's future, only to realize that there's nothing there at all and there was no point to any of this.
super nice free to play pc game! you can play it!
