Note: A wonderful friend gifted me a copy of this game. ^^
Let's make a movie! :D

Introduction
Maggie's Movies - Second Shot is a time management game developed by Space Fox Games and published by Jujubee S.A. It is the sequel to Maggie's Movies - Camera, Action!, which is available on Steam. However, you do not need to have played the first game in order to play this one. You take on the role of Maggie, who's directing her first (hopefully) Hollywood blockbuster pirate movie, Immense Darkness. Of course, it isn't easy directing a movie, and she's advised to seek help from Javier, a famous director who has a turbulent personal life. Despite having Javier on board, Maggie starts to question whether he can handle the task, even leaving it upon herself at times to take on multiple tasks. On top of that, she's dealing with personal issues with her dad, who's away frequently on dangerous locations for on-the-scene photos. Yup, it can be quite difficult to take on so many problems at once. :o With the gameplay, there are a total of 60 story levels and 18 challenge levels. You can choose from among 3 difficulty modes: easy, normal, or expert. (For review purposes, I chose to play in normal mode.) In each level, you have to serve crew members and maybe, assist Javier as he's directing the movie, and depending on how quickly you do so, you can earn up to 3 stars. Also, there's an additional task, such as keeping certain troublemakers away from the set, which earns you a diamond upon successful completion. Diamonds are used to purchase set decorations for Leon. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3397450386 In addition, each story level has an easter egg in the form of Leon, the chameleon. He's like the mouse in the Delicious - Emily games. Of course, plenty of Steam achievements/in-game trophies are present, but they won't count towards a user's global total until the game is out of "Steam is learning about this game".
Review
I absolutely love time management games, and I had this game wishlisted for quite a long time. Although I had given up hope that it would actually be released on Steam, it's thanks to Jujubee S.A. that this long-awaited game is finally available. :D First, I enjoyed the story. It's what I expected from similar games, like Maggie's Movies - Camera, Action! and the Delicious - Emily games and their respective spin-offs. It has its fair share of drama, with Maggie holding on to anger with her dad because he puts himself in dangerous situations without thinking about her feelings and her trials and tribulations in making a successful movie. Other characters have their own problems, too, such as Javier, who's having difficulty being away from his daughter due to an unpleasant divorce, so he turns to alcohol to cope with it. Even though many time management games lightly glance over the story, this one does a wonderful job of expressing an engaging story while having fun gameplay. As I just mentioned, the gameplay is very fun. The story levels are doable to complete and earn 3 stars, even with the additional diamond task and finding Leon. The challenge levels can definitely be difficult at times. (I'm eyeing that final challenge level. lol) However, they can be done as well, and lots of walkthrough/playthroughs are available if you ever get stuck on one or two levels. If you get stuck on completing levels, then you might need to unlock item upgrades, which is done as Maggie serves crew members their requested items. Also, you can purchase items that helps Maggie run the set more efficiently, such as bringing in more tips and quickly delivering items. I was able to obtain all of the achievements as well. A couple of them may require a bit of grinding, replaying levels as necessary. Especially, the achievement for serving 50 angry customers might require it since I tend to be able to serve customers/clients very quickly, so they rarely ever got angry. In regards to the art, it has this beautiful, colorful, cartoony style that I like from games of this genre. The sprites and backgrounds are drawn and colored well, and it was enjoyable to watch the opening and ending scenes of each level. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3397450191 With the music, the tracks are great to listen to. They give off that whole going-to-the-movies feeling, and you can feel the rush and excitement as you follow Maggie in her journey to making a movie.
Conclusion
Overall, would I recommend Maggie's Movies - Second Shot? If you enjoy time management movies and especially, enjoy ones that have an engaging story, want to feel the excitement in creating a movie, and/or want those Steam achievements, then it's worth checking out. I'm happy that this game finally came to Steam, and hopefully, the publisher will release more time management games. ^^
For more detailed, fully complete, high quality reviews like this, please follow The Introverted Gamer, prioritizing heart and soul always. ^^
Another great time management game. Very entertaining.
This game is fun, challenging, filled with drama, jealousy, inspiring characters and the story is really great. It followed up so well with the previous Maggie's Movies game, I was excited to see how this one would be. Not disappointed in the game play or graphics, repeating levels to unlock all the upgraded items was a bit tiring. But overall it's worth getting all the achievements and buying everything you need for that sneaky chameleon Leon, he's really good at hiding and finding him wasn't always easy. I loved how Maggie and Javier had similar experiences when it came to life, especially that Javier sobered up and reconnected with his daughter and how Maggie reconnected with her father in the end. It's a beautiful story that anyone can connect with and relate to, it's also a reminder that nobody can do everything on their own. A great support system in life will make anyone achieve their dreams, you just need your tribe of people that believes in the same dream and this game captivates that experience.
Maggie's Movies - Second Shot is the second instalment in the series and like its predecessor a time management game with a soap opera storyline attached to it. This time we deal with daddy issues from a Daughter->Father perspective and a Father->Daughter perspective involving 2 different sets of characters. The lagging game play from the last game is no more so it is on par with the rest of this type of games which are mostly published by Gamehouse. Unlike the latest games published by Gamehouse i am comfortable with the price range this game has. There are two minor technical things that are more annoying than a real problem. 1. The background noise for some levels is so high that you hardly can hear anything else. 2. If you leave full screen once the games thinks you play on a smart phone and auto adjusts the aspect ratio. However maximising or readjusting the window size fixes it but you can’t go back into a working full screen anymore. And finally there is a logical story flaw that bothered me a bit as well. If you are an ex alcoholic or on your way to be one what type of beverage do you not want to get served? Right not the thing you are or where addicted to… Well the game does not take this into account during the game play part of it.
It was fun, just as the other games by gamehouse. I would´ve liked the story to be more in depth but I really enjoyed it 10/10 recommend
Отличная казуальная игра.
I enjoy the gamehouse games, always have. This one has a few glitches/bugs but nothing that makes it unplayable.
I really enjoy time management games and they've always been my go-to casual games after playing heavier titles like Resident Evil, Tekken, Tenchu and similar games back in the day. I've also always been a fan of the Delicious Emily series, but they're quite expensive on Steam, at least in my region haha. Thankfully, I found Maggie's Movies: Second Shot and it really brought back that nostalgic feeling of classic time management games without breaking the bank. I love the art style, the story and the gameplay loop. It's simple but very satisfying. I just wish there would be more entries or a continued series after this game ✨
Maggie’s Movies - Second Shot, developed by Space Fox Games and published by Salient Games, is a lively time management title that builds on familiar genre foundations while adding a layer of narrative charm centered around filmmaking. The game follows Maggie, a determined director trying to revive her career, and uses this premise to tie together a series of fast-paced production challenges. Rather than presenting disconnected tasks, it frames each level as part of a broader journey, giving the player a sense of purpose beyond simply achieving high scores. The gameplay is rooted in classic time management design, where success depends on juggling multiple responsibilities under strict time limits. Players oversee busy film sets, coordinating actors, preparing props, managing equipment, and ensuring that each scene is completed efficiently. The mechanics are easy to grasp, but the real challenge lies in prioritization and maintaining a smooth workflow as new elements are gradually introduced. As the game progresses, levels become more demanding, requiring quicker reactions and better planning to keep everything running without delays. This steady increase in complexity keeps the experience engaging, even if the underlying systems remain largely consistent. What helps distinguish the game is how it integrates its story into the gameplay loop. Maggie’s struggles, ambitions, and relationships unfold between levels, adding context to each scenario and making progression feel meaningful. The narrative does not aim for deep emotional complexity, but it provides enough personality to keep players invested. Characters have clear motivations, and the film industry setting offers a fun backdrop that allows for a variety of scenarios and set designs. This combination of storytelling and gameplay gives the experience a cohesive feel that elevates it above more mechanically focused entries in the genre. Visually, the game adopts a bright and colorful style that matches its energetic tone. Each level is presented as a different film set, which allows for a wide range of themes and visual variety while maintaining a consistent artistic identity. Animations are simple but effective, capturing the hustle and bustle of production environments without overwhelming the player. The interface is clean and well-organized, making it easy to track objectives and manage tasks even when the pace becomes hectic. This clarity is essential for a game where quick decisions are key to success. The audio design supports the experience with upbeat background music and clear sound effects that reinforce player actions. While the soundtrack does not leave a lasting impression, it fits the tone of the game and helps maintain its sense of momentum. Feedback sounds for completed tasks and interactions are responsive, ensuring that players can quickly understand the results of their actions without distraction. In terms of pacing, the game strikes a solid balance between accessibility and challenge. Early levels are forgiving and serve as an effective introduction to the mechanics, while later stages demand more precise execution and strategic thinking. This gradual increase in difficulty creates a satisfying progression curve, encouraging players to refine their skills without feeling overwhelmed. However, the game largely stays within the boundaries of established time management design, and those familiar with the genre may find that it does not introduce many new ideas. Replayability comes from the pursuit of higher ratings and more efficient strategies. Players who enjoy optimizing their performance will find value in revisiting levels to achieve perfect scores, but outside of this, the content is fairly finite. Once the story concludes and the main challenges are completed, there are limited incentives to continue unless one is particularly drawn to mastering every stage. Overall, Maggie’s Movies - Second Shot is a polished and engaging time management game that succeeds through its strong presentation and cohesive integration of narrative and gameplay. It may not redefine the genre, but it delivers a consistently enjoyable experience that feels complete and well-crafted. For fans of time management titles, it offers a satisfying blend of challenge and charm, while newcomers will find it approachable and easy to get into. Rating: 7/10
