About
MAGE is a magical, action-packed 2D projectile fighter inspired by controller couch party classics. Play with up to 4 players locally or online in fast, explosive rounds with the game’s unique single-stick system and charming pixel art style. Like any good party game, it’s easy to pick up but difficult to master. With only three buttons to learn, your next game night will start faster and definitely end later.

Players point their wands with the left stick, using triggers to either shoot towards or boost away from their wand. This simple system leads to deep strategy, with crazy flickshots and narrow dodges commonplace in the intense combat. And when a player is about to be hit, timing a button press just right will allow them to COUNTERSPELL, siphoning their opponent’s magic to instead power a gargantuan attack of their own! Just be careful they don’t siphon that right back…

With 21 very different playable Mages, there are tons of ways the game’s simple move, shoot, and counterspell inputs are creatively reworked into new and unique ways to play. Between Wind Mage’s redirectable projectiles, Nature Mage’s grappling hook, and Moon Mage’s zero gravity, the magic you choose to master will always be stylish and silly in equal measure.

MAGE features in-depth match customization, ensuring your party has all the control you need. Free for all, 1v1, and team modes are all available. You may also toggle on and off different modifiers, messing with game rules like rounds to win or healing on kill. MAGE’s 200 maps across ten environments can also be toggled on and off, allowing you to pick between randomly traversing them all or focusing on specific map gimmicks.

Made by four close friends learning and studying game development together, MAGE is a classic example of indie gaming at its most passionate and self-fulfilling. A wishlist, purchase, and/or review all go a long way towards supporting our fledgling studio. Thank you!

Very fun game, have lots of time in the demo with my friend. but off launch, online play has a heavy impute delay making fun 1v1s almost impossible, and for some reason screen connecting like you did in the demo now causes massive lag issues. Im very passionate about this game and im hopeful that these issues are resolved, but until they are I cant honestly recommed this game (when I remote play and then host online it removes the imput but keeps the frame rate issues, yall need to add a frame rate cap fr)
BANGER Very fun especially if you like games like Duck Bumbs, Bonk.io, Bopl Battle, etc. A few bugs so far, just came out as I am playing tho - very cute art style, funny audio clips, and is clearly made by a small team who was having fun. Maybe not enough content/players to ask for $10, but honestly I WANT the team to make money and be able to build up seeing as this is their first project. GET ON EARLY, BE MEGA AWESOME EDIT: Really like game and very excitedly typed out my earlier review - but to amend it for accuracy the game should have been $5 in every universe. There is not near enough of an active played base so you'll always need at least $20 and a friend to play this and there is NOT enough time/balance/content to make that at all feasible. GREAT project, love the vision and the studio - reeks of short sightedness at the moment though.
Did I work on this game? Maybe... Does that mean I won't leave a positive review for it? Absolutely not! The controls are simple, the mechanics are tight, and every Mage feels meaninfully unique and enjoyable. I'm so happy with and proud of how approachable yet deep our little party game has become, and every time I see it click in the hands of someone new it's an incredible feeling. A year of regular playtests has only made me love the game even more, and if that's not a strong testiment to the depth, joy, replayability, and value of our game then I don't know what is.
played this game on launch with steam remote play to my friend some had issues with lag (they just have bad pc's) but otherwise it's really fun! controls are difficult to learn but very fun to master (I love market gardening with rock and ice mage ts is so peak)
Really cool game and a blast to play with friends and family. Currently the online is really laggy but after they iron that out i would highly recommend
Truly a shame this game isn't being played more. Low skill floor but high skill ceiling, just how I like it. Played the demo til I unlocked all I could, then got the full game. Great fun, worth it for the 7 bucks I spent on it for sure. I feel like once I'm better at this game there will be obvious "meta" picks. Like I see no reason to play water mage over blood mage at the moment. Haven't unlocked everyone yet, but looking forward to doing so.
oohhhh im awesoming. im awesoming. im getting gregarious. im gonna... im gonna... im gonna MAGE!!!!!!!!!!!! aaaaaaand its all over the encounter.
Magic Missile! Huzzah! The sound effects really carry this game, and all abilities are voice acted! I haven’t run into any bugs and both the character and location roster is diverse and unique. Note to the devs: can you consider making Storm Mage not say “dam it” when he gets hit? It feels a bit out of place in this otherwise chill and family friendly game. But besides that great job, and very well done!
Completely broken for me and my friends, tried to play online and it just kicked us anytime we tried to join our lobby. Also the mouse and keyboard controls seem to not be the best either.
goood game, PPLEASE tell me theres a way to remap my controls from R T Y to my mouse keys? or any other keys PLEASE thats all, veeeeery fun
