Another game I forgot to review but had for a while, some bugs but its an old game and overall a whole lot of fun. Really makes you feel like a badass at the end of the world and the car is the most overpowered thing ive seen between smashing and beating those freaks I dont know whats more fun
hand-to-hand combat got that satisfying brutal impact. Along with the high-octane vehicle combat, they serve the best part of this game. However, those moments are interrupted with questionable encampment designs, open-world littered with repetitive and shallow collectibles, and general jankiness. In the end, the repetition got me.
Amazing
Okay, this was an interesting game. I'm a fan of Mad Max and even director George Miller (even though I have a problem with his planning and trends he seems to have started in Fury Road and this game), but I never had the chance to play this game when Fury Road released. But finally, after the boom of Fury Road and the flop of Furiosa, I finally get the chance to play this game during a year of backlogging. This game was fun, with good open-world gameplay that "makes you feel like Mad Max", but jokes aside, it was a fun and solid game for what it did. Sounds great with some audio clipping and being out of sync; looking great and ran great too (I ran it at 60fps on a 1080p) for the overall positive, it's a solid good game. I have to mention the gameplay, for driving was a large part of the game, and you will be doing this for most of it, with you upgrading and customising the ride in particular, but the other parts of the game are very hit-or-miss. Combat, something taken right out of the Batman: Arkham games, is the free-flow combat system. For me this wasn't a problem, but for others it could be the cause of you not playing this game. The game has annoying controls. For example, let's say you have a water hole where Max can refill his water canteen; to get this, you hold Y. You want to get into a car: hold Y, interact with the object, and hold the button. This issue is all throughout the game and gets annoying when you see it and want more response controls. Add those controls to everything you do, and interact with having a small cutscene of Max doing the thing. It's repetitive by the end of the game. Oh, let's talk about the yellow paint because in this game, like most games of the late 2010s, these games had to be cinematic, like the mention of every interaction being a cutscene. This game follows the trend of telling the character where to go. This happens in camps or locations Max is exploring or fighting in: cracks in the wall, ledges, interactables... it's there. I have to rant about George Miller. I love the man, but this ♥♥♥♥♥♥ is responsible for these weird trends no one asked for but the industries he is involved in. Following something like the female protagonist "girl bosses" of the 2010s, Furiosa had too much screen time in Fury Road and didn't need a solo film, and other film franchises didn't need to follow this either. The yellow paint in this game, think, need not be followed. This is a good solid for a Mad Max game; would recommend. TLDR: good solid game, George Miller seems to be responsible for ♥♥♥♥♥♥ trends in media.
