LVN Fake News

This is a neutral review as I will neither give a positive nor negative review for this game to be consistent with my group's curator list entry for the following reasons below. I am also writing this as a review to describe more about the game and as a way to reach the developer as a series of suggestions to improve on other games released in future. I also recently received this game for free from korytoombs. This second visual novel by Kory Toombs as a kinetic visual novel features an all-female cast of characters with yuri themes. The protagonist, Nadiya as a student, tried to intern at her university's video game development program and ended up at the LVN News Program instead. At LVN News Program, she is introduced to the broadcasting station's members Ivanna, Alina and Tetyana. Lidiya as a minor supporting character will also attempt to look for Nadiya. Having played Kory Toombs's earlier game [i]Norilsk[/i], the game uses similar pleasant and appropriate background music for the comedic and romance themes in the game from Bittersweet Entertainment. The game has 2 non-H CGs this time, and 2 H CGs that are unlocked by an uncensor patch that is available through a link at the developer's YouTube video trailer of the game. There is some humour in this visual novel, a bit of variety where the characters Ivanna, Alina and Tetyana are sufficiently different from one another with different personalities and potentially attractive yuri storyline that could be expanded and improved further in a DLC or sequel. However, the short length of this kinetic visual novel where it can be completed in over an hour of reading, predictable ending and current price of this game at $4 where there are no good discounts or attractive bundle offers at the time of this review prevents me from recommending the game. If the game could expand further in an appropriately priced DLC or free update, or the price is more attractive in future, I might be more comfortable with recommending the game in future.

[strike]I smirked twice[/strike][/list] CONS: [list][*] This visual novel is [b]barely an hour long[/b]; legitimately felt [b]swindled[/b] but I guess I just have myself to blame since I'm willing to try any yuri-friendly game out there and was once again disappointed [*] I said there was a unique story CONCEPT, but the story itself is [b]nonexistant[/b] and really just a [i]poorly written fanfiction for lesbians to lez out[/i] [*] Concept was interesting but did [b]nothing[/b] for the game; lack of proper story and basic knowledge of broadcasting made me just skip through all the segments [*] Poor user interface with no controls; I was pulling my hair out with how slow the transitions were; closed the game on accident when I hit ESC [*] Biased but did not find the artwork for the other scenes attractive and the styles were too jarring from the sprite artist to seem like I was reading a cohesive piece [*] [b]None of the characers were likable[/b]; just one-dimensioned horny lesbians hunting down the equally soul-less protag [spoiler] who realizes she's a lesbian after masturbating to a letter confessing that she had been lied to from the beginning and the other characters' sole reason was to bang her [/spoiler][/list] Stopping here because I hope whoever is reading this has already moved on with their life in peace. [strike]Additionally, you can rate this up if you think I should try the DLC for this as well and update accordingly.[/strike]

Still better than YouTube rewind 2018.

Минусы: − девки из стандартного набора для конструктора новеллок, да и остальные арты так себе. − сюжет какая-то муторная бредятина, аля поток сознания автора на политическую тему, с тупым юмором. Отдельная задница это русская версия, ибо и опечатки, и идиотизм перевода присутствует (ну какой ✓€®™ѣѵ додумался перевести женское имя как Тетяна. Вы много Тетян знаете?) − эротишные арты, так себе. Да и можно тонны такого в лучшем качестве найти в инете. Плюсы: + если зажать клавишу ctrl, можно выбить все достижения минут за пять, не мучая себя этим текстом. Not sure where the overwhelming hate for this is coming from. I've played a lot of worse VNs than this. Nadiya gets roped into the news club, despite being slated to go to the video game development club. Go down the rabbit hole to see what happens. The girls are cute and the BGs and music are serviceable. It may be shorter than I would've liked at 40-50 minutes, but it was still enjoyable to see what lay ahead. Also contained a few laugh out loud moments.

I thought something like this would be a little silly and it was on sale to be even cheaper but it is still not worth it. Really boring so you want to skip everything, but it isn't like there is an art gallery or anything for special scenes, because this game doesn't have special scenes. I would have refunded this in a second if I could.

[/b] 꾸러미 할인해서 3개 7700원인가 주고 샀는데 엄청 후회중. 게임에 성우 없음. 레즈보빔하는 게임으로 스탠딩씬과 H씬의 디테일 차이가 너무 난다. H씬은 싸게 외주맡겼나 싶을정도로 못그렸음. 특히 보1지를 빨 때 얼굴은... 진짜 장난치나 싶을정도. [h1]이걸 스토리를 보려고 산다면 모르겠는데 H씬을 보기위해서 사겠다면 무조건 말리겠다. 아니 나는 그냥 이거 추천못하겠음. 사지마.[/h1]

EDIT:1/18/2020 Kory Toombs is a great developer. He reached out to me after posting this review, which really surprised me, because so many devs seem to just not care when an issue arises. After giving him the links to where I downloaded the patch from, he brought to my attention that I had downloaded an older version of the adult patch, which is why the achievements weren't working as they should. The current patch (as of this writing) is hosted on Steam, has 5 files in it for the new Russian translation, and all of the achievements work with it. So get it from Steam now that it's available here. That way you won't have any problems! My original unabridged review is below for those who wish to read it. I still can't recommend this game, but it's nice to know it has a great and passionate developer behind it. ORIGINAL REVIEW: This game should be free. It's 45 minutes to an hour of content tops. It's entirely kinetic and though it has some great one liners, overall it's mediocre at best. The CG's are not even done in the same style as the rest of the assets and aren't on the same level as the rest of the art in the game. They are a huge step down, which is really jarring. To make matters worse, CG's 3 and 4 are sexy time and have been cut from the general steam release. This wouldn't be such a problem if the story wasn't about a girl discovering that she is a lesbian and those scenes are where it happens. You can add them back into the game with a patch, but if you do the achievements for those scenes don't pop, which leaves you with only half the achievements after a play through. If you don't apply the patch to restore the cut content then the achievements work correctly despite the fact that the CG's are missing. What story is present is barely there and each character is entirely 2 dimensional. There needs to be a lot more work done here to flush out every aspect of this game before it's worthy of anybodies time, or money. There are much better free VN's here on Steam, which are just as long or longer than this one and offer more such as "Drinks With Abbey," "Doki Doki Literature Club," or "The Sad Story of Emmeline Burns." Go play those instead.
