Lust Complex

An interesting ([b]not[/b] real time) management sim with some well-chosen game mechanics and theming, but poor presentation and buggy. Its somewhat reminiscent of some of the oldest titles by the Japanese developer Illusion, but without the artistry, charm, or quality. [h1]Very early on you'll notice glitches[/h1] The second time I accessed the "training" sex scenes, the game bugged and showed a "loading" screen with the content seemingly playing behind it but not visible. I couldn't find a work-around to this, and closing and restarting the scene did nothing to fix it. [h1]The presentation's very poor[/h1] Low res text and graphics, low poly models. The "rooms" are really poorly rendered and unconvincing, like a kid's first attempt at making a one-room Quake map. The whole thing looks like it's twenty years old. That just kills any eroticism stone dead. [h1]The gameplay seems creative and interesting enough, but there's no indication of any depth or narrative.[/h1] There's not really any story or social interaction with the characters, so there's not much in the way of context. The "blackmail" system abstracts out the actual interactions that would illustrate the relationship between your character and your residents. In someways this has the potential to create a specific narrative around the events with your own imagination – but that somewhat defeats the purpose of buying an eroge to show these things graphically. The game is WAY too expensive for the lack of polish, lack of quality. and buggy implementation this game shows. Even on a steep discount, the novelty of the gameplay is unlikely to overcome the various immediately apparent weaknesses in the product. More care and attention to detail could make something like this really special, but this game isn't going to be the title to make-good on the premise.

This reeks of "Someone's first-foray-into-bad-3D-rendering". It's ugly, it's poorly made, and it's grossly claustrophobic. It's not sexy, and there are whole parts of the game that just... fail... to work. It's a good thing the save file is so easy to edit, otherwise it would be a boring grind of stupidity, artificially drawing out its gameplay for hours with no real benefit.

The game has potential. A statement that I imagine annoys game developers. There are some glitches. it has some rough graphics and lighting. The hot pink background overpowers the games other muted colors. The animations seem pretty good. The biggest issue is that it is a management game without enough variation and balance. The game is based on fixed formulas. When you start the game, you receive rent and start to upgrade things, a solid foundation. When the blackmail system is put into effect, it becomes very clear what you have to do to beat the game. The tenants do have special traits and modifiers, but not enough to significantly impact things. There are superficial random elements, no outside events, and no punishments (other than a too easily replaceable tenant leaving). Once you figure out what to do, it is a straight clear path to the finish line. The game needs more elements to make it enjoyable. Sure, I would like better visuals and less glitches too. But the first thing I think it needs is some formula tweaking. (I do not make games and am aware that using word "tweaking" as if it was is no big deal portrays me, accurately, as a prick). I arrogantly think the game play would improve vastly if developer can make the player (me) ask this question. Is blackmailing this tenant worth the financial risk? At the moment, the answer is clear. I do like this kind of game. However, I cannot recommend this game in it's current condition, for it's current price.

Could be a bit of decent fun if it wasn't unplayably broken. Without fail getting past 10 blackmail causes the training feature, i.e 90% of the sex content in this porn game, to completely break causing you to get stuck on a glitched out loading screen. If that bug ever gets fixed it might be worth a look, but as it stands you're just wasting your money
