About
In Lumber Jax, every tree, boss, upgrade, relic, and prestige pushes you deeper into the woods. Start with simple clicks and humble tools, then grow into a powerful chopping machine with idle crews, critical hits, rare encounters, equipment drops, class bonuses, and long-term progression systems.
The forest will not stay calm forever. As you clear more worlds, new mechanics unlock, enemies grow stronger, and the game shifts from a simple clicker into a layered idle RPG about pushing further, prestiging smarter, and building the strongest lumberjack possible.

Every enemy you defeat gives you resources to grow stronger. Upgrade your click power, build up your lumber crew, boost critical hits, and steadily push toward tougher worlds.
The further you go, the stranger the forest becomes.
Progress through forest biomes, defeat powerful bosses, and push deeper into increasingly dangerous versions of the world. Every milestone brings new challenges, rewards, and systems to master.
Upgrade your chop power, hire a lumber crew, boost critical hits, and shape your playstyle around active clicking, idle damage, or a mix of both.
Pick a role that changes how you grow. Become a heavy-hitting active chopper, an idle-focused foreman, or a fortune-driven gatherer focused on rewards and economy.
When the forest pushes back too hard, prestige to earn permanent power. Spend points across different upgrade paths and return stronger than before.
Collect axes, armor, accessories, and relics as you progress. Equip better items, salvage old gear, and keep improving your build.
Every major milestone brings a boss fight. Defeat bosses to earn powerful boons that can change your run and help you push further.
Watch for special enemies, faeries, beetles, golden rewards, crystal encounters, and other surprises that can give your run a sudden boost.
As you reach deeper worlds, new layers open up, including pacts, haven activities, relics, ascension tools, automation, and tougher versions of the forest.
Play actively, leave your crew working, come back stronger, and keep pushing your best world higher. Lumber Jax is designed for players who enjoy steady upgrades, satisfying numbers, and long-term progression.

Visuals are aesthetically great! Feels unique and stands out to other games. Tutorial was clear and guided through the basics of the game well. The gaps between the biomes and bosses flow at a good pace and they're different enough from each other to stand out and make it exciting when you've reached the next area. Minor tweaks would be awesome, such as more reward visuals showing xyz wood dropping when killing enemies. Though given the price and this being your first game dev, kudos!! Looking forward to future patches :) *played on an ultrawide OLED monitor
If you enjoy idle games, this one does exactly what it promises. The progression loop is simple but satisfying, and the numbers get big fast. I like that it keeps giving you new upgrades just when you think you’ve hit a wall. The art and UI are clean and nothing feels overly complicated. It’s not reinventing the genre, but it’s a solid, relaxing clicker with a good sense of progress.
I wanted to leave a review to just let others like myself (older & not a huge game player) know that with 5hrs of game play (not in 1 day) i actually like it. It's easy to follow & after a slow start I realised my older laptop system was the problem. But with an update it fixed the lag & I'm back on again. I like the characters and different levels together with being able to build a team of choppers etc was great. As well as the background music which is a nice touch also. I hope you also enjoy the game.
Found this game while browsing through Steam looking for something quick and easy to play. Safe to say I have been very impressed so far. Not only from the game itself but from the prompt nature in which all minor issues that are common for new games have been dealt with, and the open communication from the developer that is often lacking in modern games. The game itself is a fun and rewarding experience, where there are tangible changes from levelling up and eventually working your way towards the boss battles. I will definitely keep playing it over the next few weeks in my down time from work. Great effort from a small game creator!
If you are looking for a quick, easy and fun game I recommend giving this one a go. Plays well on the Steam Deck and is great for those quick fix gaming sessions. With the prestige, gear and other systems it also gives you lots to explore and tinker with.
Idle & Incremental Lovers recommends Lumber Jax: Don't let the AI art fool you, there's a good idler/clicker with many layers of progression behind it. Becoming able to automate everything, including prestige, is a great feat for the lazy ones. :) + The various layers of progression give the game a RPG feel, while the boon system (choose between 3 boons after beating a boss) give it a nice roguelite feel. + The class system allows you to play the game your way, leaning more towards the idler or the clicker direction. + As someone leaning more on the idler side, buying various automation unlocks was very satisfying. Autobuy, automerge, autoprestige... Even auto-attributes your prestige points, amazing! + First time solo dev is actively improving the game and bringing new content. Also very responsive when I had a problem, props to him! +/- Art is pleasing to the eye but feels a bit generic due to the use of AI. - Minigames are all a bit boring and samey. Thankfully you can finish the game without playing them, no problem. *Why did the lumberjack lose his arm? He had an axeident.* Found this review helpful? Lumber Jax is a relaxing, forest-themed idle clicker that pairs chill music and clean visuals with a surprisingly deep progression system. Why It Works Atmosphere: The soothing acoustic soundtrack and crisp, wilderness-inspired graphics create a perfect, low-stress environment for casual play. Progression: Unlike standard clickers that rely entirely on mindless tapping, this game features a highly rewarding skill tree that makes every upgrade feel impactful .Final verdict: A fantastic choice for a casual gaming session. Would click again.
As a lover of flash games, this game really hits the spot and scartches an itch that i didnt know i needed. Solid game play and consistent updates from the developer 10/10
Had to refund due to a bug that made my mouse clicks stop being registered after around 10min of game time, I would have to restart the game each time. Shame because I really enjoyed the 30min I played.
