How do you play a game in the dark!?!? You carry a torch! Which is not only a light source but a weapon too. I had a lot of fun working my way through the pyramid with my scarab friend. They're very helpful, especially since they will collect my torch and bring it back to me. Keep in mind the game is short but always has something new. The later levels get some light puzzles along with challenging enemies. I'm glad the developer didn't try and expand the game with fluff. Please watch the full video below for more details. I'm rating this game positive, but with a caveat. I really loved this game up until the final boss. I know the final boss is supposed to be challenging, but there are two major things that made the boss unfun to me. 1) You aren't really utilizing any mechanics you learned along the way, since everything up to this point is more puzzle-based than combat. 2) It is broken into phases, but the phases are at awkward damage points, which caused me to lose valuable damage and my rhythm. As for everything else, I really enjoyed it! I thought most of the game was just the right amount of challenging with well-timed checkpoints and fun mechanics. Movement feels really nice and the regular enemy combat is satisfying. The art style is cute and the music is good & never annoying. Overall, I'd recommend it with the warning about the final boss. With some minor tweaks, I think even that final boss could be more palatable and take the sour taste out of my mouth about the ending.

This game is charming, fun, casual, and just the right amount of challenge. There's your gun, and your torch. You can throw your torch and use it to light torches. You can upgrade both and use as multi-purpose items as the game progresses. You go through a mini-platforming game where you solve mild puzzles using your tools. It's balanced, it's broken up into mini-areas with checkpoints which makes it great for short sessions if you prefer. The mechanics gradually expand as you go, and it's paced well. The sounds, graphics and animations are well-done and cool and appropriate. New monster types and hazards appear as you proceed. It is a small game, limited in scope. But it also knows it's limits, is crafted with a delicate touch, and nothing overstays it's welcome. It was a refreshing experience. Check out the free game this dev made - it is lovely as well. This one is worth asking price. Personally I want this dev to have my money.
Short and sweet! Does not overstay its welcome! cute artstyle and lovely music! Has a very fun way of using light for survival and combat, with small addition to the gameplay at almost every level - making the game feel continually fresh whilst you get a chance to hone the basics. :-)
It's neat, short and sweet so not too much to expect. The whole lighting gimmick is neat, though starts to feel more annoying towards the end. Since it's so short it finishes before being a real frustration luckily. Grab if you want a quick little dungeon platformer with a neat gimmick.
This was an awesome experience, my only gripe is that it needs a sequel.
pretty clever shooter-puzzle-platformer. the game isn't all that hard, it was fun and worth the price.
A short 45 min - 1.25 hr game that is a very competent and difficult at times platformer. It is built around a strong central mechanic and utilizes its limited toolset to its full advantage. Very strong recommendation.
This game has a very unique vibe. The music and sound make everything a little nerve wracking, and I love that! It's also incredibly fun to play. I really appreciate all the unique applications of the torch!
The core concept is good: you see only where there's light and you can throw your torch to light other torches or bring light to dark places. At first, it's fun but pretty quickly, it becomes progress 2 m - die from a trap or enemy you couldn't see - retry - avoid that trap/enemy - die from the next trap/enemy and so on and so forth. I could cope with it because every level comes with some new features but at the end, there's a boss. And it's a very difficult boss. And you die in one hit. And that means it's nearly impossible. Refund.
