[h1][i][b]Classic slots presenting few additional features.[/b][/i][/h1] [h1]Design:[/h1] Lucky Slots is a game presenting the well-known slot machine mechanics consisted of taking a spin with possible goal of getting chains of matching item tiles. The game does present old-style game graphics and few features to take in consideration. [h1]Gameplay:[/h1] At the beginning of the game we get to view a short tutorial explaining the whole. Beginning with the amount of 1000 coins, it is up to us to choose which lines will be taken in consideration coming to the matching item chains. You can increase the line number from the “lines” button found on the right of screen (respectively, from 1 to 9), as well as, choosing your bet evaluating what may work better for you with the presented coin amount that is shown on the left side of screen. The total spent will be calculated by multiplying the chosen line number by the set coin bet number. In case of winning we will have the possibility of choosing among two presented options; to take the win keeping the gained coin number as is, or to try multiplying it with 50% risk of losing the amount we were supposed to gain. For the win to be multiplied we will have to gamble the stated amount by taking a guess coming to the color of the card located under the coin amount. We will have to choose whether it’s red or black, and, in case we do get lucky, our coins will multiply. It is also possible to keep guessing the card multiple times in a row in case of hitting the correct answer. The slots among the different win amounts do also offer a bonus presented as a treasure chest. There we will have to click upon it so that we will get to view a tiny window displaying multiple chests among which we will have to choose one, and, possibly, a bonus will be granted (or not). Lucky Slots is a mobile app that's been dumped on Steam as if it was a real PC game (it's not)... it's a cash grab from greedy mobile devs. This mobile app is a very shallow, simple slot machine emulator. Now, at first I thought this was an asset flip because I recently reviewed a bunch of 1:1 copies of Unity assets that were also slot machine emulators with exactly the same gameplay as this, but this does seem to be originally developed rather than flipped from a template. But that doesn't matter... see, ethics aside, the reason gamers don't like and should always avoid asset flips is because of the incredibly shallow, "barely works" kind of gameplay. And that's exactly what you get from Lucky Slots... no different in terms of gameplay value than an asset flip. What's in this for serious PC gamers? Nothing, of course! From a technical perspective, as a mobile app, this doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard. There's no option to change the resolution and no useful graphics tweaks. There's no way to ensure this is running at the native resolution of your display. There's no guarantee this game will look right on any PC as a result of this hamfisted design decision. The mobile app features mostly static, barely animated 2D images, the kind of thing you expect to see in browser/flash games. While the artwork itself, while mediocre, might be considered passable, the visual presentation here is negligible, it might as well be a slideshow or a Youtube video. Pac-Man, Space Invaders and Asteroids had more advanced animation and visuals going on than this mobile app does. The controls can't be customised because the game has such a dumbed down, simplified interface that it's just iPhone screen tapping stuff. The fact that the interface is this dumbed down might be seen as a problem in itself, however... this is a fairly shallow experience if you're the kind of gamer that likes to play games with deep, rich control schemes and interaction. You'll get none of that here. Because this is a mobile app, it carries a number of deliberate design deficiencies. Compromises were made to cater to the iPhones that the mobile app was designed for. These are unfortunate handicaps and limitations that PC gamers shouldn't be forced to accept, but it's evident that PC was an afterthought for the iPhone developers who are to blame for this. The mobile app is deficient as a result of these choices, and would have been so much better without the handicaps that designing games for mobile phones forces upon a game. Once more, mobile devs have made gaming worse for everyone. I didn't spend thousands on building a gaming rig just so I could pretend it's an iPhone. These technical defects push this mobile app below acceptable standards for any modern PC game. The poor quality of this mobile app is reflected by how many people spent time with it. At the time of this review, SteamDB shows the all-time peak player number was only 3 players. This is a remarkably low number, and now, the only player activity occurs once or twice a month, presumably someone loading it up to see what it is then quickly uninstalling it. Considering there's over 120 million gamers on Steam and well over 100,000 games for gamers to choose from, the overwhelming lack of interest in this low quality mobile app is to be expected. So, should you buy this mobile app? Is this one of the best of the 100,000+ games on Steam? Once more we see greedy mobile devs trying to scam PC gamers. On Steam, this is $8 USD, on app stores, it's free. Mobile devs must learn PC gamers are not here to be gouged, and can't be expected to pay a premium for a free mobile app just because it's been lazily dumped on Steam. #keymailer Advising anyone buys this game at 8 dollars is the opposite of my morals. You could play excellent slot games online in free-play mode without spending a dollar if you are only interested in slot play (Leader-boards and REPLAYS are included in Pragmatic brand games) This game does not feature replays; the slot itself is so basic its almost laughable. I contain the all-time highest score but it displays me as fourth on the leader board.... If it was free, I'd give it a "give it a try" as it seems to be someones proof of concept. As a game that costs money? No. I received a key for this and another slot game by the same developer and publisher that is essentially the same.
