While clearly inspired by "Luck be a Landlord", I love how they've shifted the focus to trying to keep a balanced economy. Most individuals you add to your town will either produce something or have specific wants and a big part of your job is trying to make enough money by supplying those needs. To make this endeavor even more fun, the game features all sorts of recognizable sci-fi, fantasy, and fairy tale characters (with their names changed just enough to be legal) so you could easily have Master Chief, Snow White, and Gollum represented in a run.
Luck-based management game where you juggle with interesting citizens. The objective is to accumulate enough coins in a few days. This is accomplished by drawing cards each round and picking a new citizen from a pool of three at random. Citizens may create something, buy something, or both. Most of them also provide a perk that adds some variety to the game. For example, a miner often produces ore, but there is a small chance that it will drop a more expensive gem. Each round, all citizens in your bundle will be placed randomly on the grid that can hold twenty citizens. Although a grid is divided into four slots that each accommodate five citizens, this is only relevant when a citizen has a benefit that impacts the entire group. One of these is a cat that boosts the productivity of everyone in a group. Citizens who make things will place them on a shelf in the center after each round. If you have a citizen who loves one of the available things, you will receive a coin. Because the shelf has a limited number of slots, new products will simply replace one of the existing items. There are many different kinds of citizens. You will come across a princess, orcs, pirates, mystical creatures, and many other things. Many will be familiar from well-known film series. After a few rounds, you'll be awarded with one-of-a-kind objects and characters. Items are kept in your inventory until the requirement is satisfied, at which point its perk is activated. Unique characteristics boost the efficiency of some citizens significantly. Because your bundle will ultimately hold more than twenty people, you may want to remove those who aren't really necessary. Because their lifetime earnings are constantly accessible, you can see who contributes significantly and who is simply using up precious space. There’s only one single mode available. This can get a bit repetitive after a few rounds.
I am totally blind accessibility consultant and I am working with game devs / modders on improving accessibility in games. Just heard from my friend (who is basically doing the same and He is doing so amazing work) about this game and it's accessibility. I've tested it real quick as it's the middle of the night but I am loving it so far! Everything works and the developer did amazing job integrating the Unity plugin in to this game! Congrats, this is what every dev should do! :)
A fun game but there are too many bugs and no support to fix them. Multiple cards do not operate as they state which makes a deck building game unusable; as it ruins quite a few paths for deckbuilding.
At first I really liked the game but eventually it just dragged on and on and I was just waiting for it all to finish because my build has been solidified at around the 50% mark.
Awesome little game. Really like this take on the Luck be a Landlord genre of games. For me personally, the idea that the citizens you draft all contribute to the market pool where they each produce or purchase products makes it way more interesting than other similar games, even if this tiny "market simulation" is super simple.
Pros
For a small game it has: -Good number of characters. -Very nice art and tight sound design. -Simple idea executed really well.
Cons
-Ultimately, it won't be enough to keep many players interested for a long time after beating the game a few times. -Some strategies are just better than others.
decent game, good difficulty scaling, nice artwork. sound design doesn't stand up to other similar titles.
