Having played several games by Tonguc Bodur, I've come to appreciate his meditative walking sims with meaningful stories and poetry (like Nephise, Bottle Pilgrim, Dead Tree of Ranchiuna, Pluviophile, and Chionophile). Many of his titles include additional mechanics, such as platforming or orb-collecting, which enrich the experience. Loverowind is a short, tranquil walking sim set in a vast valley. The game revolves around exploring this open landscape to find various items like flowers, stanzas of poetry, and hidden quotes. While you can speed up your movement by passing through orbs of light, large fields of light will slow you down, though they can be turned off as an option. Unlike other titles by Bodur, this one takes place in a singular open area rather than a progressive journey. I spent much of my time looking for an exit or path to a new area, only to realize the game is limited to this single location and structure. If you're new to Tonguc Bodur's work, there are many other titles that offer more engaging and varied experiences. However, if you're a fan of short, meditative walking sims, Loverowind might still be worth exploring. Personally, I found it a bit tedious, with little to capture my attention beyond the peaceful setting. One highlight was the opening quote by Sri Ramakrishna: "The winds of grace are always blowing but you have to raise the sail." This sentiment truly resonated, reminding me of the importance of finding inner peace amidst life's challenges.

Much like the wind, it blows.

I need a game to make a little more sense than this. Running through a field trying to grab orbs and other nonsensical things just feels pointless. The world feels empty and cold, but mostly not interesting.
Is this a subgenre in Walking simulators?
Can we identify Walking simulators characterized by the lack of elements? Like Paint drying simulator but with feet Existence Simulator Walk around an empty field, pick up 4 flowers and unlock a poem. Thats how i would describe it. You certainly occupy a space. the art isn't connected or add up to its main focus, seemingly wasting the visual advantage it had over reading. While also not adding satisfying gameplay wasting the vast player interaction possibilities games have. Real life is less depressing
crap generic asset game. annoyng crap music
+ pretty visuals - samey environment - go-to-map-marker objectives * play pluviophile instead * or play flower
while i love walking simulators.. this one was the worst unfortunately. no story. pretty visuals but made my gaming pc overheat badly. long-winded. and waaaay too short. it just didnt do it for me.
Certainly a shorter game, as described, but man did I have a lot of fun zooming around the normally slow walking environments! Definitely enjoyed this one even if it was short.
