I LOVE THIS GAME SO MUCH!!! They are soo cute and the art is awesome! <333 The minigames are pretty fun and have a nice balance in difficulty!
This isn't a yuri visual novel that will blow your mind or make you cry. But it tells a sweet love story and has great music. If you're looking for something cute and you like rhythm games, you'll enjoy it.
XUnity.
This is such a cute story! It had me cheering for the characters and I was tearing up at points cause it was so moving. It took a few goes to get used to the music mini games but I figured it out :3 The art is gorgeous and the music beautiful. 10/10 would play again
Very novel idea for a VN! Even if you don't like rhythm games, I'd recommend anyway. Art is super cute and I enjoyed the two leads' developing relationship. If you DO like rhythm games, there's more to enjoy as there's a good few extra songs/charts that aren't in the main game.
rhythm gayming :3
Peak game, I loved the story and characters, and it was nice and sweet.
This is one of those ever-so-common situations where I wish Steam had some kind of 'meh' or 'neutral' rating. What it kind of comes down to for me here is that there was nothing in this game that blew me away - the writing and story are nothing special - and there were a lot of small nitpicky things underlying the 'meh' that made it worse for me. -Some typos here and there (nothing incomprehensible, but they bothered me) as well as a few inconsistencies with the timeline. -The tiny sprites and large textbox were REALLY bothersome to me. I actually think the art and the characters' alternate outfits were quite cute, but you couldn't hardly make them out behind the huge textbox. And when the 'camera' is all the way zoomed out from the screen, the sprites only take up about half the screen. Imo they really should be taking up at least 3/4ths. -(That said, in one of Candace's alternate outfits, hiding the textbox makes it obvious that her arm clips through her sleeve lol.) -An 'A' rank doesn't seem to allow you to pass the minigame? So I have no idea how well you have to do to pass them, and didn't feel motivated to try hard to get those missing achievements when I'm usually something of a completionist. Then, breaking from the bullet points bc this isn't so much a 'nitpick' (at least to me) as it is something that made the whole story fall flat for me. The entire premise from the very beginning is that the main character, Valerie, wants to write a song that can bring people to tears, but can't because, and I quote, "I have never experienced sorrow in my life before." That just doesn't follow for me. You've never had a pet die? Never had a falling-out with a friend? Never had your parents snap at you about something? Ever? Not everyone has their life defined by a Grand Traumatic Event, but I have trouble believing that there is a person out there who has never experienced emotional upset ever in their life. She has a line early on about how "she isn't one to show her emotions by crying" and I assumed that the VN would involve her getting in touch with those emotions and crying or at least being able to acknowledge her sorrow? But that's not a plot thread, and neither does she seem to have any other growth. The love interest, Cadence, is the one who does all the growing, and even then I feel like it's pretty minimal. I was also expecting more opportunities to play the rhythm game portion, but there were only 2 in the prologue and 3 in the main game (although the characters have scenes where they play music far more times than I as the player get to). Maybe it worked out for the better since I ended up not being able to pass the rhythm games anyway, but the gameplay was something that had drawn me to the VN in the first place. (Also, small aside - there doesn't seem to be anyone listed in the credits for programming? And certainly someone had to implement the minigame....) After all that, the few pros that I have: -There was a music track that I really liked (Cadence's track from the prologue). -The art is pretty. -I was kind of fond of Cadence by the end. I think ordinarily with a pro/con imbalance like this, I'd be leaving a bad review; but the thing is that the game is so short (I completed it in two sittings, and could have done it in one) and it's also literally 5 bucks. I'd feel like an ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ to leave a negative review with that in mind lol. If you're a big fan of music, yuri, and/or extremely lighthearted stories, this might be a nice time for you. I actually *wouldn't* recommend it to a rhythm gamer considering how sparse that gameplay is.
This game was amazing, I wish lesbians were real.
I was having trouble finding a lesbian/wlw visual novel when I decided to give this a try after having it on my wishlist for about a year. It surpassed my expectations especially for being 5$! I like the art, the way the sprites zoom around the screen when they move and the way the camera pans really made it for me honestly. I found myself laughing a lot and being extremely happy when gay things began happening! I do wish there was a little more between the end of the game and the 'epilogue', but overall I really enjoyed this game! There is a rhythm game mechanic that comes up about 3 times and I like it, but am for some reason SO bad at it. I think its just a skill issue on my part, but you are able to change the keybinds if the default ones annoy you!
