What a charming game! Really, lovely art and and a beautiful world. The characters are super cute and I really enjoyed the crafting. It's got a real Slime Rancher vibe to it. Definitely one to pick up if you enjoy a nice cozy crafter - and the biplane is the icing on the cake! I think some negative reviews are due to some early bugs but the dev team are super communicative and looks like they'll iron things out.
I've really enjoyed my time playing Lou's Lagoon. I'm not super far into the main story but it has been interesting enough to keep me hooked. Is it a little grindy? Yeah, but it's not that bad if you enjoy crafting games like this. I love the platforming aspect and spend more time than I should trying to bounce up mountains I'm probably not meant to climb. Definitely a good game to play on the Steam Deck while relaxing on the couch. The animal like characters are super cute and I love helping rebuild the different islands. The only snag I ran into was not understanding when and what tools to buy/upgrade, so it took me a bit of grinding and selling to get enough currency to progress to the quest I am currently on. I foresee the currency amount continuing to be a problem, but it's nothing that's not fixable with some playtime.
Fun game so far, enjoying the setting and music (reminds me of some of the Monkey Island games in that respect), while the plane reminds me of Tailspin of course! Just enough exploring, gathering, and crafting along with the adventuring and story for a good mixture of everything. Humor added in lots of places (Yeah science!) Feels like it was made with a lot of care!
Very cozy and relaxing game
A lovley colorful 3D adventure games that really honors the Playstation 2 happy gaming-era. Some small camera-movement fumbling occassionally but you can tell the game is created with love. ...kinda would want a few more smaller eyebrows too. It's a fun game! And you can customize the plane as well as your character.
After playing the Demo I knew I have to buy the full game. Fun and cozy what else you need.
First I'm not giving this a negative review right now as I hope the Devs fix the issues since it was just release. This is a crafting game. You need to grind mats to continually build stuff and do bulletin board quest. He's the main issue... There is NO STORAGE! Yep you heard me it's a grinding game with no storage. Think about this.. Play Starsand island or My time at Sandrock without any storage. I think you understand now. You'll have to work your way through an island and some are tricky to get somewhere and it may take you 30 mins or so to work you're way up a mountain and all the time getting stuck and will need to use the unstuck feature all the time. What's so bad about that? Well... It put you all the way back to the begging at your plane on a dock. Yep you have to start over and let me tell you this.... YOU WILL get stuck ALL the time. It maybe on a rock or bush. I got stuck so much I just ended up stop playing the game. On 1 island there is these waterberry plants you have to water for them to grow up and you jump on them like lilly pads. Well on this 1 island there is like 4 or 5 of them and the last 1 is higher than you can jump in fact you look under the pad and can't jump that high so you can't get up the mountain. Other than that the game is kind of fun... The no storage kills this game. Oh and also in the build mode there is a tab called storage and you'll see bookcases and other storage looking stuff, but they store nothing so don't waste you're time building them. It needs to be relabeled as nothing in there is for storage. Well that's the issues I see so far. I'm waiting to see if they fix the Storage issue before I play again. Don't ask me to grind mats to do quest and build stuff if I can't store the mats. And don't give us storage boxes with like 6 slots so we need 100 storage boxes. I'd start with 10 or 12 slots then progression unlocks large storage boxes. Also something funny players are building items and stacking them all over looks like a junkyard that's how they are making storage as you can destroy it and get all your mats back
