Please for the love of god fix the online Capcom. I don't even think it's that hard, you just gotta spend a day or two talking with Steam about getting steamworks set up for it. It's good on it's own, so at least put it back up for sale now that it's playable without GFWL. This is one of my favorite games ever. Why has nobody else tried to make a game like this? I'd be screaming from the rooftops at everyone I meet to play it, but you can't support it officially and you can't play it coop, which genuinely makes it 10x more fun. Capcom is sitting on gold here. Both in not bringing this game back to full working order and not making a new Lost Planet.
I'd love to see this game become available again for others to play, Capcom.

For the love of all that's holy please fix this game. What a massively underrated gem this was.
Lost Planet 2 hasn't been for sale on Steam for quite some time now but this negative review needs to exist in response to Capcom's recent efforts to keep owners of this game informed of the progress of their "investigation" into issues related to Games for Windows LIVE: It seems Capcom's solution is to remove it entirely. Great. Except their way of doing this is by applying XLiveless instead. Capcom have effectively taken a cleaver and sliced through all the online components of Lost Planet 2's gameplay: Goodbye Achievements, Goodbye Online Play and, worst of all, Goodbye Saves. This was all done without warning. I can appreciate trying to get Lost Planet 2 as accessible as possible, especially on Steam Deck, but this isn't the way to do it, and has infact broken my trust in Capcom's ability to keep supporting their software library. It is an anxiety that only a digital-only future can promise, which sits on deaf ears in an age where physical media may become extinct in only a few years time. When companies like Capcom operate in this manner, they clearly take you for granted. Maybe these studios should understand there are consequences for doing that, no matter what beloved game they decide to remake next. Vote with your wallet. Buy from someone else.
Remaster and re-release this amazing game, please! With less tutorial slog bs to go through next time. This version barely works and requires xbox/windows live to play. Unstable. Do not recommend this current version of the game.
This game now falls under the Offline Game Movement. I love this game to death when it came out and even replaying it this year It holds up. Capcom after years of silence on updates comes up and says hey no more online and gives us the " We are investigating an issue" that will go on for years till the day we die. BRING BACK ONLINE CONNECTIVITY!
I was there to witness this game's debut, it seemed like it was the next big online title everyone was playing. But when traffic stagnated, Capcom decided that instead of trying to make this game's functionality last for future generations to enjoy what I once revered as one of the most fun and connecting experiences of its time, they would rather skip all the effort to reestablish the online features and just left this a husk, only accessible to the old guard who once got gypped into paying money for this. This was one of the very last things my father bought for me before his passing, and now instead of being able to retrace those good memories I had when I was young, it was taken from me just like he was. If I have children, they'll never get to know what fun this used to be, what it could be. Instead, they'll be stuck with what the system curates based off its current marketing strategy-whether it be placating expansionist political movements or rich lobbyists vying for power-and they will never know what it was like to play something built by talent. No, unfortunately games that had love put into them are a lost art to time immemorial. ♥♥♥♥ you, capcom. There will be a war.
I just want them to finish fixing the GFWL issues so I can finally go back and finish this game.
Why did they "fix" the game by destroying the game. It was being sold on steam and then steam delisted it because cr×pcom decided to kill all multi-player functions....... in a co-op game.... how does that make any sense. My friends got this game and we went through the 15 steps to get this game working because its fun. Now you guys just ruined it.
You can boot the game up and run a benchmark. But you cant play unless youre on LAN with more than 1 pc. Its unplayable in its current state which is sad. I also feel i wont be supporting CAPCOM till they either fix this game or remaster it. A shame because the new RE looks great.
