Really surprising... Much more complex than led to believe by trailers. The combat system needs some refinement, but the game is complete and, so far glitchless. I've been looking for many years to a successor to Stronghold, and this is by far the closest I've come. Close enough to get the same feeling of freedom, but different enough to feel new.
Loving it ! 36 hrs in and still exploring the Tech tree; 30-odd mining levels to dig; more mining skills needed to get deeper for more treasures; the suspense and challenge on whether I can survive the next invasion and I am preparing for the final invasion? A little bit of Minecraft, Rimworld and Dwarf Fortress all mixed together into a great world environment . An amazing achievement for a solo developer. Best value game for a long time. I am addicted to it.

Lotsa fun and pretty addictive.
If your a Dwarf Fortress/Gnomoria fan you will also become a fan of this game. I use to play both of those games a lot and I will compare this to those based on what I have played so far since Lord of Dwarves is so similar to those games. I really like the 3d graphics in this one, though there are a few little quirks with it which is to be expected from a single developer. The aesthetics are somewhat pleasing and all of the graphics go together fairly well. It's pretty easy to tell what is what to an extent. Though when stuff is laying in a pile on the ground it can be hard to tell what it is, but you can easily mouse-over the tile to see what's there. The colony management seems pretty fun, and it does have a bit of depth to it which surprised me honestly. There is plenty of workshops to make and different product lines to establish. It has a good priority system in place, and the dwarfs act like they should when crafting, and building from what I can tell. Even with quite a few options available however, I cannot tell much of a difference from making a wall out of dirt, or worked stone. Or making a stone axe compared to a wood axe. It seems they all have the same stats no matter what material it's made out of. I am not even sure if doors made out of stone are actually stronger than wooden doors. I was unable to tell a difference when being attacked by orcs. They smashed through either with ease. Reinforced doors do last a bit longer however. The combat is pretty basic. You assign squads gear and then assign them to "zones" where they can defend/attack. Unfortunately you cannot control each dwarf directly, but honestly it adds a bit of challenge to the game and it's the same way in Dwarf Fortress. The combat consists of each unit having a HP bar and trying to deplete it to zero until they die. Unfortunately you don't get any of that juicy text like you do in DF, where warriors will rip off limbs of monsters and then throw them back at them and then proceed to pickup that limb and beat them to death with their own appendage.. There is no seperation of body parts, or crippling effects, or any details. It's just an HP bar. My main issues with the game so far have been the scaffolding system, which when left to the AI to build is ridiculous. They will just build scaffolding everywhere when your trying to build a wall/tower. Literally everywhere. I had some dwarves that kept wanting to build scaffolding on top of my mine entrance even which made zero sense! I ended up turning it off, as thankfully it's an option in the games settings and you can just do it manually. The other issue I have is the lack of moods and personalities. Dwarves do not have moods or any personality, which was a HUGE thing in Dwarf Fortress and it adds tons of FUN! to that game. This leaves our dwarves here a bit boring, and I don't care if Stonebeard dies in an attack, or if Uruk is sick. From what I can tell the only ailment dwarves can get is to become sick around corpses if you fail to bury them, and it doesn't seem to have much of an effect on stats it only slows them down. Overall this is a great game that I think I will get plenty of more hours out of for the price. It's a bit rough around the edges with some QoL stuff, and lacking in a few areas, but still good fun for a while. It also has a fun campaign mode that teaches you the ropes fairly well. I recommend this game if you enjoy Dwarf Fortress or any colony sims in that vein.
To be honest, I originally downloaded this game, as it looked "cute". I never expected this level of complexity from the title. It's not hard to play, as the game guides you through the mechanics quite well, but you literally end up controlling every part of you little Dwarven civilisation. Credit to the creators of the game, they really gave it quite some though.
Gamepaly is fun but neverending CRASHES! the bigger the base/invasions get. Sometimes even without any errorbar just closes it and thats all.
I’ve sunk 300 hours into Lord of Dwarves, and it’s incredibly addictive. A voxel-based builder with strong Dwarf Fortress vibes, the game offers endless fun in its sandbox world. The graphics are basic, think hand-drawn-in-paint feeling and simple voxel art, but the gameplay is solid! The campaign serves as both a tutorial and a series of sandbox missions, and I’ve spent at least 50 hours just getting lost in my own plans. Some of the challenge mode maps are great fun too! The developer is no longer working on the game, though, and technical issues can make it hard for some to get it running. I wish they would return to patch it and get it into working order for everyone, because it's quite a forgotten gem. Despite the technical issues and no additional updates in sight, I strongly recommend it to fans of sandbox games. It’s a charming, addictive experience if you can get it to run.
Отличный дварф фортес в 3D, но плохая оптимитизация, не на всех машинах будет норм работать, так что берите демо и если норм работает и понравилось, смело покупайте.
