Loop hero is a blast. You can do a quick run or spend all night messing with setups and attempts. I would give anything for this game to get new content it's just so good.

In spite of this game having absolutely fantastic art, the gameplay is painfully slow and uninteresting. You need to constantly micromanage your character's equipment so you can't really even look away, but I never felt like I had a whole lot of control over how things turned out anyway. There may be things I didn't reach yet or failed to understand, but having played 14 hours without these feelings being swayed, I don't think it's too unfair to say I tried to give it an honest chance and didn't end up finding it worthwhile.
kinda boring
Unfortunately terrible publisher

It's an idle game that you constantly have to interact with. I've played for hours and gotten nowhere. This game sucks and is boring as hell.
I think I got this game in some kind of bundle a while ago, played about twenty minutes and was bored. Realized I'd have to return the whole bundle if I returned it, so I just kept it. Recently came back and said "you know what, I might as well finish the game if I bought it" but legit, I can't bring myself to. The game is an actual chore, I would honestly rather just be at work. The game play is mind numbingly boring, the resource system is very tedious; whatever lore, story, or dialogue there is feels like they pulled it off of Twitter or something man. I mean it's legit one of the few games in my library I have nothing good to say about. Feels like I'm playing a mobile game, idk how this thing get's good reviews, but hey to each their own!
Easily replayable with tons of different playstyles that all feel valid. The story in this game is unique in my opinion and I loved the themes of mortality and what classifies as "good" Such a banger of a game!
I really wanted to like this game, and I feel I've given it a fair shake in terms of casual play. I may not be this game's intended audience and I own that fully, so take this with a grain of salt if you're the sort to want to dive in to deep systems with little explanation. I've had far too many disappointing runs where it felt like I was getting somewhere, getting stronger, only to lose the entire run unpredictably. The sound design, art, and story are all SUPER interesting and I really wanted to stick with this to get through it all. It just leaves a sour taste in my mouth when making progress (i.e., building up the base camp outside of the loop) is directly penalized by being daring and taking risks/chances in a given loop. Is the gameplay really meant to be "go around 6 times, and retreat"? Do this 30 times and you might have enough stabilized metal to build your third building, WOW! I'm exaggerating a *little* here, but ultimately progress in this game just feels very slow. And you're incentivized NOT to push your luck and be the brave and daring HERO (in the title), but rather run away as a default so you don't lose whatever meagre gains you were able to achieve. I did my part to try to learn how things interacted, and I felt like I had the game more or less figured out, but I still struggled to progress. Because of that I just don't find it fun unfortunately, and can't recommend it at this time.
