Look Outside

look outside is a game about finding yourself in an apocalypse where looking outside turns you into a FREAK. I slept on my couch and played video games until it was over. 10/10

I love eldritch and cosmic horror, and I love feeling heartwarming things about messed up little guys and creatures. This game combines those two things! Firstly, I really appreciate how this game doesn't pull any punches when it comes to body horror. In the current climate of censorship, it's hard for horror lovers to find something to really sink their teeth into- or that will sink its teeth into them, and Look Outside has Lots of teeth. (A whole apartment full of them!) It's so refreshing to play a game that makes me go "eugh" out of reflex when something nasty shows up, something that genuinely makes me a little nauseous. Maybe I don't play enough horror games, haha. The gameplay loop is pretty simple and easy to get down, and figuring out each combatant's weaknesses and resistances is a satisfying puzzle to solve. I've only played on Explorer so far, so I haven't gotten the full survival horror experience, but I deeply appreciate how accessible and low-stress Explorer has been so far; when a game is high-stress, I find myself disinclined to keep playing for the story, and the story of Look Outside has been really fun and fascinating! I haven't finished the game yet but I would heartily recommend it to all of my friends who like RPGs and horror. EDIT: ALSO YOU CAN KILL A COP AND ITS BASED
