Not fun. While the Squid Game/Cube concept is intriguing, the puzzles are extremely repetitive, long, and boring with no checkpoints. The backstory and character development may have been good, but I saw very little of it. After the third time doing what was essentially the same minigame with different hints, I just couldn't do it anymore. This game has a lot of potential, but needs a LOT more variety.

The title of this game only told truths about you and me [Eng and pt-br review]
In addition to the title of the game that describes very well who wrote and who is reading this review, this game is a mix of puzzle and cult psychological horror movie, it has a simple dialogue full of jokes, but at the same time, even being a short game , presents its characters very well and brings a bizarre plot that stays in your head after you beat the game and that each one will probably understand in a different way. All this combined with refreshing images presented in a way that causes great discomfort and fear and a wonderful OST. *Note: be patient, the first puzzle is not that difficult.
this is so unserious bro the story is thinner than my nutsack and i dont even have one
Yeah, this game is super weird, but I genuinely liked it. It grew on me.
I got this game because it was cheaper to buy I'm on Observation Duty 5 in a bundle with this than by itself, and I finally decided to see what this is all about months later. Honestly, it is WEIRD. The puzzles aren't too bad, but the characters are somewhere between hilariously wtf, and cringey. It... also makes an attempt at a story?? This is one of those games where I don't regret the hour or so I spent playing it, but I absolutely would not go out of my way to buy it. However, since I got Observation Duty 5 cheaper by buying it bundled with this, I'd say that's worthwhile!
funny.
Being so honest, this game was fun and pretty easy. Only part I struggled in was hard mode because well, it's hard mode. Other then that, nice story and pretty easy to get all achievements once you know the personality of all the characters. Also! There is slight nudity, but nothing bad; pretty safe.
It's...okay. There are around four different puzzles that drag on for a little too long. There are different endings depending on who survives, but you can't skip through any of the too long puzzles, killing the replayability. The characters, for as short a time you know them, are somewhat fun and still made me laugh and root for or against them. It's an okay game. If you're bored one night and are looking for consequence then go ahead but don't go into it expecting too much.
I rarely make reviews but I need to talk about this! The gameplay was fine. The first puzzle was excessively difficult for the first level, made me incredibly frustrated, however, once I figured out what I was doing, it was fine upon my replay! The gameplay was repetitive until the "trials," where I thought it had uniqueness... until I got to Elle and Erik's trials, which were repeats of Jan and Ringa's. Anyways, skipping all of this to hop right onto the characters and dialogue. Spoilers if you care.
Being upfront, these characters were bad. Like, no personality outside of their one character trait. Which, I'm sure made sense, considering the name of the game is basically what each character was. I think on paper, brilliant idea! I like the idea of each character representing their one word.

Jan being Lonely, Elle being Lustful, Erik being Arrogant, and Ringa being Hateful. All clever. I think this could've made for some interesting character writing! It didn't, but the potential was there. I think Jan and Elle were insanely one note, which, fine, they felt like background characters. However, it also made them very unlikeable. Jan's entire thing was being... the guy of the group, until Erik finally shows up. Elle's entire thing was flirting with Jan until Erik shows up, where she immediately starts obsessing over Erik for being "tHe ChoSeN OnE!" I think that could've been interesting, but, it wasn't. At all. I'll also mention, because I gave this game one replay because the ending where everyone survives infuriated me to where I had to replay to kill one character who I will mention in a moment, that if it's only Jan and Elle together, the dialogue's not that different, but Elle seemed to like Jan a bit more? It wasn't until Erik shows up where Elle suddenly switches up and starts treating Jan like he's dirt (Which was kind of funny LMAO) that really threw her character for a loop. Elle's entire thing was being there for cute boys, and Jan's entire thing was... being the guy of the group, and then being the less popular guy of the group. That's it.
Next part I'm mentioning involves abuse, censoring for that, plus spoilers.
With that out of the way, Ringa was an example of how not to write an abuser. I get that representing an abuser in media is important and I think that Ringa/Erik's dynamic could've been interesting, but it felt like a joke. I'm not saying that as like, "haha, she abused him", but I feel like the writers also took it like a joke sometimes. There was one part where the interviewer talks to Erik about how she would S/A him while he was asleep, and the interviewer goes... "Nice." What in the hell? That honestly disgusted me, because the lines previous to that were the interviewer describing the abuse that Erik went through under Ringa, which could've been intriguing, or what not, but it wasn't. It was Ringa doing some weird abusive ♥♥♥♥ to him while he slept, and they kept describing how she cut, sliced, hurt him while he slept? Which was disgusting enough, but it made me more frustrated in the future.

But anyways, focusing on Ringa. Her hatred towards Erik was disturbing, but not in a well written way. If Ringa's obsession made sense, sure. If we got more on if she loved Erik or not, sure, but there were multiple points in the "trials" where... you chose the dialogue, and it was stupid. The interviewer speaks on "I'll know if you lie" but you can have the characters completely contradict themselves, a big example being Erik going "I still love her" VS "NO I HATE HER!" But anyways, Ringa. I don't even want to say this was wasted potential, because I guess she filled her purpose as hatred... and no defining character traits. She was just hateful and abusive for some reason. Abuse is a very sensitive topic, and while I understand that it could've been presented well for horror, it wasn't. The horror wasn't there, it was just abuse content. I wasn't horrified because I was scared, I was horrified because she gets a good ending. Speaking of, if everyone survives, Erik dies. Ringa frames him for stealing something that is literally named ##### because I think the writers couldn't think of something, and he dies. I don't know if Ringa kills him, if a guardian kills him, or if something else kills him. Either way, giving the abused a bad ending and the abuser a good ending in the "best" ending of a game could've been horrifying, well written, intriguing... but it wasn't good at all.

Anyways, the reason I played it twice was just to kill Ringa and see if there was anything else. All that happens is Erik survives, and they cut one specific puzzle that I thought was pretty easy. However, it didn't feel like any change of the story mattered. I was tempted to try other routes, but... there's only 2 other achievements left, and I don't really feel like they matter.
But anyways, I think this game had a lot of good concepts, I think it could've been phenomenal, and for what it's worth, $2 is whatever. I just think the topic of abuse was not done properly for this game, at least, when it came to the "best ending" of the game. Maybe it just left a bad taste in my mouth writing wise.
