“Lona: Realm of Colors” is a point and click adventure in nature focusing on art and narration instead of fetch puzzles and dialogue. Each level is an abstraction of Lona’s story and it is up to you to bring peace and balance to her painting and find out what has happened to her.

Beautiful game. I waited for it to come out since it was announced and finally got the chance to play it. It was worth it. The visuals, the art style, and the music are fantastic. Surreal, yet gorgeous.
Beautiful music and beautiful artwork. It's a short story with a couple of frustrating puzzles, but relaxing all the same.
Beautiful mesmerising game. I love the art and music.
While it is a fairly short game, it is still a lovely one, all the same. It is a very atmospheric, with its focus on the images and the colors, accompanied with fitting music. The story deals with loss, mourning and depression, and personally I consider this very well done. There is no running around or wild interacting with objects or characters. Instead, you can move the camera around to take in all there is to see, and solve little puzzles by clicking on specific things in order to chase the darkness away and help Lona come to terms with her sorrow. I enjoyed playing it a lot, and will undoubtedly do so again at some point in the future. The atmosphere, music and gameplay help to unwind and relax, and think about one's own pains and sorrows and how one got through those. It's important to remember the good moments in one's life and let the colors back in.
I had a nice visual experience, but I feel it lacked some game design elements! I really loved the art, for sure, as it's the reason I first pledged for the kickstarter! I think I expected maybe a bit more scenes, and for them to be in a more realist landscape because of the first art examples on the Kickstarter page. But I was disapointed with the gameplay experience as it often felt too metaphorical; I didn't really know why I would to something this way, and what it was telling me about. In that sense, I was missing some narrative direction. I would have loved a bit more visual feedback too (I had a hard time drawing on the window for instance!). The "arrow" puzzle felt a bit off the general ambiance also. As for the rythm, the zoom in and out seems a bit slow. To conclude: I feel your team has potential and assets but would create a more suited game with an another expert who is used to the code of video games (which doesn't mean you cannot be metaphorical, based on intuitive gameplay or any unique thing you brought of course :p )
I waited for this game for 4yrs! It was really enjoyable. Not a long or difficult playthrough and the artwork and score are BEAUTIFUL. It's a must for anyone who likes story/puzzle point-and-clicks or is just really in the mood for a dose of dreamy (and a little weird) artwork. Time: A little over an hour Rating: Keeping in mind it was a small indie developer and knowing how long and hard they worked on this, 4/5 stars, super enjoyable! *Spoilers Past this Point* The part with the entering dates was truly the only place I got stuck and had to look it up, so on one hand that is totally fine and on the other hand I finished the game in about 65 min, maybe sooner if my game hadn't crashed once (prob my computer). The artwork was the best part! Loved the color palettes and stuff. The vibe was just a little bit weird and a little bit dark, and the underlying story was not too heavy-handed. If I had one criticism its that I'm a little impatient and waiting on the camera to slowly zoom in and out of focus points was a little frustrating sometimes. But hey- Great job devs! Thanks for a fun time! I may just have to revisit this one every now and again for the art and score!
Solid art style. Interface is less than smooth but the art definitely carries it.
An artistic experiment that you will only play once, for a hour, and that you will never play again. Buy it, or not. It's a single-use ticket for a hour of your time. Is LONA a bad game? I wouldn't say that. It's a short story narrated in 6-7 "tables/stages". White Cat -> cute, GOOD! Crow -> BAAAD! - It's a story of loss and grief narrated as a colourbook. - In literally 6-7 puzzle/tables, alternating between black and white and colours to find a balance. - YOU WILL CLICK. A LOT. RANDOMLY. EVERYWHERE. HOPING TO FIND SOME INTERACTIVE ELEMENTS. - did I mention that you will CLICK A LOT? - don't waste time on the clocks puzzle: search the solution on YouTube. We've all been there. That puzzle may keep you stuck for over half of the length of the whole game. Or more. - the gameplay is not fun. The puzzles are forgettable. The visuals won't leave a mark in your memories. I believe it's a self-biographic story of the artist saying she's trying to live with her own demons. Maybe it's a good artistic exercise, but I won't be playing it ever again. The game gives you all in barely a hour. It's not deep. It's not fun. Really feels like a narcissistic expression of the author. I'm not sure what the Kickstarter campaign was about but LONA didn't enrich my life in any way. Try again. The game may have made you renowned as an artist, but I wouldn't recommend the game.
Has a very poetic feel. Yes, it's rather short, not really an adventure game (which you might expect due to the "Point & Click"-tag) and I wouldn't call it a puzzle game as such, especially not a "Puzzle Platformer" - there is no platforming to be found here. There is some kind of story being hinted at, though that took place mostly in my head - which is a good thing! The puzzles didn't always make a lot of sense to me and so I felt lost a few times, but I always found my way throough and spent a nice relaxing hour with this, which I spent looking at beautiful scenes and really enjoying the different moods they portrayed.
This game was wonderful. I tend to enjoy games that are more heavy on story, and the visual storytelling in this game is really excellent. All the colors, the dark and the light, the animations were very nice. It felt like someones dreams being expressed through paint. It was nice to just experience. My only complaint would have to be that clock puzzle. Haha. Part of the problem for myself was that there was no consistency in spacing between the numbers on the clocks. I now understand the ticks on the clock representing the numbers, but I was thinking of it as space on the clocks. I'd try to figure out where 12 was and then put the hand where I thought it was supposed to go. Other than that one puzzle, all of the other puzzles were really a joy to figure out. Every time I solved a part of the puzzle, I got the sense that I was beginning to understand more about the person having these dreams. I understood how things were connected. The cat was my favorite part. I would recommend this game to anyone who likes indie games and more experimental games. Solving each piece of each puzzle felt like flipping through a page in a beautiful picture book, and I think that's how I would describe it- an interactive picture book, telling someones story who has experienced terrible loss, new beginnings, and what that means for those feelings to all coexist within a person. Glad I played.
