The game's physics can be clunky at times, but when it came to the puzzles, most were very well thought out and had me scratching my head to solve. The leaps in logic in later puzzles, however, left something to be desired. If I tilted my head, squinted my eyes, and got very, very drunk I could see the path to the answer. Otherwise, it obviously kept me entertained, and the numerous in-jokes definitely helped the experience.
After having played the Logic Keypad and liking some of the unique puzzles there I couldn't resist to play the much longer Logic Escape. Logic Keypad has some harder puzzles actually, so for this one I didn't need a walkthrough or a hint. For Logic Keypad I used hint quite a few times.. I bought this since I really wanted to also support this Vietnamese indie developer that has some very nice and unique ideas about puzzles. It will appeal to the very hard core puzzle solvers that would take a pen and paper to calculate things and decypher all the relations among shapes, colors, letters, lines and other constructs. Definitely kept me busy for at least 15h and I enjoyed it thoroughly.
Follow "First Person Exploration and Puzzle Games" for more games like this!
This game starts out like the developer's previous game: with cringey humor and mediocre puzzles. But then suddenly, out of nowhere, the puzzles get really good, and stay that way for the rest of the game. Don't get me wrong, it does still have a lot of issues. A handful of the puzzles are poorly designed (the
pills one, L-shaped corners one, and connect-the-dots
ones all need a redesign). The game needs SERIOUS user-experience upgrades to make interactable objects more obvious. The hint system is hit-or-miss (and doesn't exist at all in the last level, for some reason). The humor later in the game is only slightly less cringey. The plotline of the last level was
shamelessly stolen from the movie "Moon"
. However, with that out of the way: 90% of the puzzles are both fair and extremely difficult, which is pretty great for a solo-developed game. A lot of these would make great escape room puzzles. There's about 6 hours of content, which is way more than I was expecting. If you're a fan of hard escape rooms, this is a great game to pick up.
It's a pretty fun set of escape room puzzles, and I think I got my money's worth. Some of them were a bit too obtuse for me to solve, or I had a hard time figuring out what pieces were supposed to be related to each other, but after a few attempts I was able to figure out 90-95% of the puzzles without any guides. Contrary to the name, I didn't think the puzzles here were any more logic-based than others in the genre. The presentation is a bit lacking. The visuals are all fine and are pretty cohesive, but there are some odd quirks where it's hard to tell what's a joke, what's serious, what's a bug, and what's just bad UI/UX design. Text is typed out letter by letter, and it displays the tags used to format the text being typed before the formatting pops in. I can't tell if this is a quirk, or a mistake. Menus all have this weird "don't do what I'm saying" thing going on, where you need to click a button labelled Alt+F4 in order to exit them (Alt+F4 just exits the game), and I can't tell if it's a joke, or a prank, or some other mistake. I got lost for one puzzle because I threw an object somewhere and forgot about it, and that's 100% my own fault. It has music, but you have to find the music players, which I actually thought was kinda neat. That said, I mostly kept it quiet and caught up on my own music and some shows while going through this. The grammar's a bit rough, but I think it gets better as it goes on, and I don't think that warrants docking any points here anyway. The first couple levels have this self-aware, self-deprecating "don't trust the developer" thing going on, and I think it makes those levels a little less enjoyable. Also, the screen when you beat one of the levels is really confusing, I was worried the whole game was over. Thankfully it wasn't, and there are four scenarios to go through, each fairly different generally longer than the last. I'm pretty sure the final one is longer then all the others combined, and thankfully the game saves after you open each door so I could put it down and resume later. It felt like the developer was experimenting to find out which elements worked and which didn't as the game went on, and I hope they take what they've learned and make something stronger and more earnest with it. Despite my gripes, and various ups and downs, it gets a soft recommendation for anyone looking for some tricky puzzles.
Puzzles and logic. Extremely complex with a high level of difficulty. Absolutely fantastic, feels like real-life Escape Room challenges. The second level where everything is a puzzle is impressive and quite challenging. There are many items, and I got stuck in a dead-end for quite a while. The final level is also excellent, where each room is interconnected, giving a sensation similar to Escape Simulator's gameplay.
Good, not great. Clearly some love put into it. Worth the price.
A fun game, but man were the puzzles difficult. I ended up using the playthrough for a lot of the puzzles because it didn't really make a lot of sense to me. Fun either way!
A bucket of jank, really - and the developer admits to it over and over - but somehow still works pretty well.
Dev làm game cuốn quá - dEV không cho tui ngủ phải thức chơi game anh em ạ !
