I am crippled and can't stand or walk without crutches. The developer of this game has been determined to make it handicapped accessible. When it first launched it had a LOT of problems. I have worked with the dev to fix them. I now feel this is one of the most accessible FPS VR games on steam for me using my power chair. He added a head height slider, short rang grab beam to pick items up. as well as a 45 degree world rotation left and right. And implemented the popular movement system found in the game Onward.
气氛营造很到位,不敢继续玩了_(´ཀ`」 ∠)_
I really want to give this game a good review but it is way too hard. I am really good at fps games but i probably died 50+ time playing this game and there are no checkpoints so it makes you restart the whole level when you die. Also all the enemies are giant 10-foot-tall monsters. I think the game would be a lot better if it made the enemies human size, lowered the amount of them down, and added actual horror in the game. All that said the game has really good inventory control and shooting mechanics.
This is a Game that should be in Everyone's Collection. Its not a wave-shooter it has some unique features and the game play is really good. Guns, Monsters, helicopters, teleport and trackpad this game has it all. I have really enjoyed playing it especially the big guns in the the copter. I also like the way the developer listens to feedback and has made improvements almost instantly. That is a big plus.
Remember the sense of dread, the sense of hopelessness, the sense of fear that ultimately leads to a sense of survival, that you got back in the day from games like Silent Hill or Dead Space. Lockdown manages to do that right off the bat and places you in a city that has been devoured by hostile monsters. The city looks and feels lifeless (but in a good way); all city lights are gone, replaced only by fires that engulf the city in ash. Once you hit the third level it all kicks into full gear and you truly feel like you 'stand alone" (pun intended) in this world. I would honestly say that the game's trailer and pictures don't do itself justice and does not fully portray the intense atmosphere the game provides. The game's mechanics are very simple but also very polished. You have a pistol on your side and a rifle equipped to your chest; both have flashlights and both have to be manually reloaded. Both can also be exchanged for different weapons of it's type; i.e. a revolver or a sniper rifle, etc. The monsters in the game come in in a mixed variety. So far I have only seen 3 and one terrifies me. I won't go into too much detail about it, as to not ruin the surprise, but it's ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ fast and it ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ screams. If the sense of survival hadn't already been kicked in, it sure would have in that moment. There were three suggestions I brought up to the developer that he agreed on and has already been working on to improve. One is adding a health system; at this point if you're hit once you die instantly and he agreed that this made the game too hard. The other thing is that you have a flare that you can use to draw out monster; in it's current state it's having issues but is being worked on. And the last thing is the player speed seems a bit too fast for a survival game such as this; the developer agreed and said he is going to decrease the speed just a little bit so that it doesn't break immersion. So here's the last thing I want to add: I know as the Vive community we're early adopters for this amazing technology. We all want great experiences, but sometimes we hold back on making a purchase on anything that's over $20, which is understandable, we're not all made of money and can't afford to drop $20 - $30 each time a new game comes out and lately we've been seeing a trend of $20 - $30 'crappy' titles. This game is not the case. Lockdown: Stand Alone is this developers' first game he has made... and for being his first game ever it is extremely polished. In his first game ever he has created an intense atmosphere, a freedom of movement, great visuals, a variety of game play, and refined game play mechanics that, I feel, truly deserves recognition and support from the community. If you like story driven survival games and would love to support a new indie developer then I high recommend this game to you.
One of the better VR games to date. Pros: + No wave shooting + Manual weapon reload + Nice graphics and atmosphere + Runs really well + Touchpad movement Cons: - A little repetitive enemy animations - The third level was a bit hard, although i beat it after about twenty minutes
Not sure why there are positive reviews on this, it isn't good, it isn't polished...
Pretty cool but they need a music option for the tutorial and menu. It's so loud. Also, they put music in all the big action scenes and it totally ruins it. Monsters are cool but they'd be cooler if they were smaller. Being huge makes them easy to kill bullet magnets. I haven't died once and it is extremely easy to not die despite what I read before about people constatly dying, I just don't understand that. Interaction sounds would be nice.
Terrible control made me very nausious. Moved me around even when i wasnt touching anything. Graphics are nice but as for game play had to switch it off before i threw up
