If you're considering this game, I assume you know what you're getting yourself into. For those who don't: This is a hentai game featuring little girls. Even the steam version is extremely ecchi and full of fanservice which some people might find offensive. That said, Little Witch Romanesque is a pretty good visual novel. The story is well-told if a little overly long at times. There are many genuinely likable characters and interesting plot beats to follow, a ton of replayability with many different mini plotlines to follow and girls to potentially romance. LWR does have some gameplay elements to it as well. You take the role of an archmage training his two apprentices. Over the course of the game you'll be able to send them on quests which are essentially mini-stories which grow their abilities and can increase your affection levels with different characters, earn you collectible items, or diplomas which are important for determining what the girls do after they graduate. Each quest requires that the girls know certain spells. Spells are learned via spending Spirit in a skill tree type system, and Spirit is earned by doing lessons. Lessons are a dice-based minigame, but the player is allowed to fudge the dice a bit to get results you want; it rarely feels unfair. So the basic gameplay loop is: - find a quest you want to do and look at the required spells - check the girls' skill trees so you know what you're aiming for - Do lessons and learn the spells you need - Do the quest It's pretty simple and easy to understand, but many quests have a time limit attached to them and can lock you out of certain endings if they aren't completed so it's best to focus your efforts on quests for the one girl you're most interested in for your first playthrough. My biggest issue with the game is that many scenes are extremely long in between gameplay sections, but if you're a veteran Visual Novel enjoyer that probably won't bother you. It's also a TINY resolution due to being pretty old. Oyari Ashito is an excellent artist with a unique style, and if you like this game I would recommend another title they did called Quartett. The Voice acting in this game is also extremely professional and well-done for such a small production, dripping with character and emotion. It's also a manageable length. One playthrough will probably take you 10-15 hours, but you can easily stretch that to 30+ trying to see everything. There is also (of course) an uncensor patch one easy google away. It features a lot of unique art you'll miss if you play without it, and is fully voiced as well.

Do NOT buy this on steam if you want the adult stuff. However, if you buy the full game, from Jastusa, and get the steam version super cheap at sale, all you need to do is install both, and copy paste the full version over the steam version, to enjoy full game as any other steam game. I had issues running the full game due to an error. I opened the properties and set all kind of stuff like admin, windows 7, disable full screen, so on. I now works. However, AVOID changing windows size. This is what caused said error. Otherwise, game is very good. Story is mediocre (not bad,but not good) due to game itself being mini events after mini events. As in, the story is all over the place, even n some character routes, and sadly, many question or events, will never be answered what happened. However, there are tons of good moments. And the characters are lovely and fun. Art, despite uncensored, it's soft core, porn that someone draw by hand? I'm not sure, idea it'd not that amazing VS HD eroge, but again, this is NOT bad, just good. Otherwise, nice towards beautiful, with red being overused for reason I don't understand. Idea is that non H CGs are way more amazing than the H ones. Theme is harem ism, aka 1 male, tons of woman, but not real harem, and random "fooling" around. Game play: Dice and time management. to see 100% you need to play this game multiple time. And for your sanity's sake, check out steam's guide section for help Just to add however, each girl has their own dice, a second dice, as in, the symbols each face has, is added based on who the teacher is. 3rd is room this is important since, any spell you can cast, will be cased based on the face this 3 initial dice will have (and only this, no clone dies) BTW, if you further value your sanity, as well as free time, there is a cheat engine table that allows you to fully enjoy the story without wasting real life time due to dice rolling and such....you'll understand what i mean the more you progress game

the game is fine dealing with the patch was so insufferable and unresulting that it was easier just to buy the uncensored game on other place

As is, meh, but get the uncensored patch and it gets REALLY good.

i can't defend it for sexualizing kids. And no being against sexualizing of kids is not being woke <3 I bought it years ago like another review here says since i also wanted something similar to Princess Maker, and though there is definitely some questionable content in Princess Maker i feel like this one is even more aimed at males who enjoys this then the type of gamer who likes the child raising aspect and want to shape the kids future and see the outcome of their decisions. I feel like Princess Maker though special it definitely attracted an audience that didn't buy it for the sexualization but more for the path you can take with your kid. This one however have very in your face sexualized cgs and dialogue. I feel like a groomer playing this. It also is just not as fun either. The gameplay grow stale fast and you have two witches you care for, and though usually the more the merrier i think it would have been better if we just focused on one. It also has a lot of other female characters who also feel uncomfy sexualized which is in your face. I read that it also has an adult patch, which is worrying in itself blergh. Looking back i can't believe i bought it since the trailer sort of gives it all away, but i guess back then i was just so desperate to play more child- raising games like Princess Maker that i ignored all dubious content and just thought to myself typical Japan when i should have been more grossed out. Anyway, fast-forward we are now in 2025 and i'm grossed out realizing i bought this game. Thankfully we now we have a lot of other child-raising games that aren't focused on sexualizing like: Volcano Princess Growing Up My Child Lebensborn Chinese Parents And my personal favorite: I was a Teenage Exocolonist

Played this for 12 hours straight as I descended into a fever, excited to have fever dreams about the characters. Instead, it was a mindnumbing infinite dream about rolling dice over and over again with no end in sight. This game is so beautiful that even that torture felt like heaven.
