Throw your toys into your fire, and play with them as they burn. An adventure that takes place almost entirely in front of a fireplace - about looking up up up out of the chimney, and the cold world just on the other side of the wall. From the creators of World of Goo and Human Resource Machine.

Since childhood i've loved this game. Years later, I'm glad I can still enjoy the bittersweetness the younger me felt back then seeing such a simple, yet impactful game. It'll teach you to always value not just your time, but the time you have with others.
Boring.
This is one of the first games I ever finished on steam, though since that was several computers ago/long before the DLC so I guess my progress didn't get saved to the steam cloud. I was a kid obsessed with fire when this was released, and now I'm an adult still obsessed with fire :) It's been a comfort to return to and try getting all the achievements again while exploring the DLC

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 23 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 14 places towards #1, and the 2,420 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Little Inferno is a classic cosy game so expect a very chill, enjoyable experience whether it's listening to the crackling fire, testing out new things to burn or hearing the screams of burning children. First I'll focus on the gameplay which as, you can pick up on by this point, has a lot of interesting items to burn and they all interact in ways that really tests your imagination. Making you want to not only continue but to take your time exploring all the interactions that are taking place, with a combo system that even promotes that very things. It's gameplay loop of burning to earn money is so simple yet clever and fits perfectly paired with a wait time on items further in the game. Which even we're looking at the mechanic a bit deeper you could say gives you time to reflect on the capitalistic themes at play but I'll talk more on that briefly. Circling back to the combo mechanic because it does have it's flaws admittedly like some of the names are now dated so many people might miss out on them and that the back end combos have so many options in terms of the items you could use that you end up sat there baffled at what it wants. Rounding the review off I'd like to say there is more qualatitive substance within this game than just gameplay and that is again of what it says about capitalism. Jingly themes with a loud overbearing track playing when in the catalog but complete silence when returning to the fireplace smartly displays the allure companies use to attract and in a way indoctrinate the youth into pursuing a strictly monetary lifestyle (as your character is a child as well as other children). Burning all of your worldly possessions for money and the characters in the story show the corruption of a society like this. Now spoilers for the ending but when you blow up your house and go see Miss Nancy it's revealed she's the head of the makers behind the Little Inferno which is presumably permeating the existing nuclear winter. My thought process is the popularisation of the Littler Inferno caused enough CO2 to keep blocking out the sun resulting in a feedback loop for the corporation where more people are forced into buying Little Infernos as it grows colder. Then Nancy leaves on her rocket ship from the money she made of the backs of children so she can escape a world she helped doom I'll say this to wrap it up, another Tomorrow Corporation classic with not just fun, inventive gameplay but a story to match, a must play for self respecting reviewers who are interested in story based and cosy type games.
Score: 9 / 10 ⭐ Little Inferno is a strange, cozy, and slightly dark experience that really sticks with you. I was first introduced to this game when I was a kid at a friend’s house. Back then, I really wanted to play it fully, but I didn’t know where to get it. Years later, I finally saw it on the Steam store and picked it up on sale, and it was absolutely worth it. Burning items in the fireplace sounds simple, but the atmosphere, music, and subtle storytelling make it feel special and memorable. The DLC is a great touch and fits the game perfectly, adding more charm without taking away from the original experience. Little Inferno isn’t about action or difficulty, it’s about mood, curiosity, and that quiet, strange feeling that stays with you.
For a game that revolves around buying and burning things it's surprisingly fun and satisfying, albeit somewhat lacking in replay value. It's nice to just watch little trinkets burn and the message behind the game really tops it all off. Highly recommend for anyone who likes fire.
