The final girl enter the frame.
“LIP! Lewd Idol Project Vol. 3,” as the name implies, is a continuation of the series that retains the same theme as the earlier entries. If you liked those, you’re likely to enjoy this too. It’s more of the same with the same quality but with a fourth girl added into the mix. And one just as allergic to wearing clothes as those we’ve come to know already. A series where each person inhabits a personality trait as their defining feature. (6/10) Ranko continues to be manipulative, while Kairi is still inexplicably portrayed as an innocent girl while taking part in frequent intimate encounters. Yuki, for her part, remains emotionally grounded and she’s a good counterbalance to the extremes found in the other personalities. Meanwhile, the new girl, Kanako, is, by her own definition, a badass. Which boils down to wearing leather, liking rock music and being rude. And she very much does not have the presence to pull it off even a little. Reminds me of a puppy with a tiny leather jacket. All bark and no bite. There are no secret depths to uncover but if you expected there to be you can’t have played the earlier entries. The main draw of the series continues to be the mature aspect. The idol plotline is just there to pad the runtime while pointing the way to the next unclothed performance. Indeed, in many respects, the story follows the same beats as the earlier entries. The dialogue doesn’t come across as natural, but I don’t think it’s intended to be. At least, instances where Ranko does things like compliment a stranger on her chest size don’t come across as small talk to me. Instead, it serves its purpose of letting you follow along while the girls come up with their next silly antics. The artwork is excellent, just like in the previous titles. Well made and clearly where most of the attention went. Though, the look of the girls changes somewhat compared to the regular art. Much cutesier. It’s not a flaw, just noticeable. Also, each girl is nearly identical from the neck down in most of these scenes. The game is also not very adventurous, nor can you expect to see many group encounters despite the number of girls. In addition, some encounters are problematic. For example, one scene involves Yuki initiating intimacy with Kairi when she’s sleeping. In others, some of the girls are undressed without their consent. Though, it never escalates beyond exposure, I still felt it worth mentioning. Finally, there’s no achievements, which is a shame but expected since the others didn’t feature them either. Also worth noting is that the voices don’t mute even at the lowest sound setting, but all in all, it’s worth a read. The game accomplishes what it sets out to do for the most part. (6/10)
Just finished this game now, I love Kanako. She is hands down my favourite. Honestly, my interest in the series dropped after Yuki was introduced, but I'm so happy I picked it up again and got to meet Kanako. There were some minor errors like the screen occasionally flashing (don't know if I did something to cause it) and I would have appreciated a user manual that explained the controls rather than having to guess them. That said, I would recommend this game to yuri fans that have played all the previous entries in the series.
Fun VN . good story with some nice art work .
