Liminal is a mind-bending puzzle game where every door is a change in perspective and destination.

I finished this game after about an hour. The highest screen resolution is full hd (1920x1080) which was even outdated in 2018 when the game came out. Also it is capped at 30 fps which really hurt my eyes. The character movement is really ... bad. You can't run, jumping feels like as if you were stuck in pudding. The few puzzles were quite entertaining but at the same time the rotation of the three dimensions felt a bit weird but you get used to it. The audio is very repetitive and quickly gets annoying. Also the last puzzle was really hard compared to the few before. It took me half the play time to reach the final puzzle and the other half to finish the final puzzle. I appreciate the idea behind the game but the state it is in doesn't really justify a recommendation.
It has potential. It's a short puzzle game in a similar vein to portal. It wasn't exactly what I was expecting. I've been interested in the trend of liminal spaces. Liminal spaces are "a location which is a transition between two other locations, or states of being". I stumbled upon this game by accident because of that, and while this doesn't really seem to fit with that theme that I was expecting, it was still a minimalist science fiction world that I wanted to get sucked into. It seems a little bit glitchy still, it wasn't clear at first which doors could be opened and which couldn't, and the last puzzle seemed impossible to the point that I had to look in the discussions to complete it, but since this is in early access they have potential to improve it into something really cool.

I slightly recommend it to 3D-space puzzle lovers. The trick is two sides of one door connect two spaces or the same space with different gravity directions, it sounds like Portal but not exactly. The puzzle design is solid. This is the game that we can suffer less if we rely on instinct and don't think deeply. But once we stop and start to comb through the clues, well, mind twisted. In the end, I spend about 4h but I think the real content lasts 2h. To me, the problems are 1. It's not a platformer, but the jump is too clunky to ignore. 2. Slow walk pace. Obvious in the last level. 3. No sound effect, the monotonous music is soporific. 4. The penultimate level, the purple door is useless. 5. The last level, to watch the five faces of the big room, the first I feel dizzy in a game. 6. The game is complete to some extent, but abandoned at early access.
A confusing cluster ♥♥♥♥ of rushed levels, halved frames and the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ relapse of my opium addiction
A buggy mess with linear puzzles that absolutely hates the player. It takes minutes to load from a black screen on start up, I repeatedly fall out of the level (which restarts it), the music is repetitive, the sound effects don't work unless you die in a level and restart, and the final straw was when I approached a door and it deleted the key from my inventory. No warning, no nothing, just softlocked the game--the FOURTH time I had restarted that level due to bugs. The beginning of the SECOND level. That's right, I've spent over an hour in this game and barely made it past the tutorial. I've restarted the game more times than I've solved puzzles, and I'm done with it.
This Game ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Sucks
