About
Super Farming Boy is an original, never before seen, mix of action, puzzle, and farming sim, heavily relying on chain reactions and combos.
In Super Farming Boy, you assume the role of Super, whose mom and friends have been captured by the evil nemesis, KORPO®©TM. Unlawfully hiring you to work on your own land, Korpo taxes all proceeds for himself!
Now, with your friends and mom up for sale, you must harvest your way through some wacky challenges, saving enough to rescue them back!
In Super Farming Boy, there are no tools because you are the tool. With the simple push of a button, you can transform into a shovel, a hammer, a pickaxe, a watering can, and more! Super Farming Boy can even FLY!
The game's central mechanic revolves around chain reactions and combos! The magical seed creatures in this world, once harvested, trigger specific chain-reaction effects that enable you to optimize your farm in ways never seen before in a farming game. These chain reaction and combo powers also serve as your means of defense against creatures, help optimize your daily stamina usage, and facilitate various actions such as chopping down trees, demolishing boulders, removing weeds, collecting items, defeating bosses, and much more!
Explore whimsical weathers and extraordinarily unusual seasons, such as Radioactive Season, Timewarp Season, and Volcanic Season. There's even a season set underwater!
Super Farming Boy has been meticulously designed with touch controls in mind. The gameplay is incredibly intuitive: everything is draggable, tappable, pokeable, and supports both classic joystick controllers (XBOX, Bluetooth, PS), keyboard, and touch simultaneously!
Superhero abilities. Super Farming Boy™ has the ability to walk, run, and even fly! Additionally, he can transform into any tool with a simple push or tap of a button—be it a shovel, pickaxe, axe, or hammer.
Chain Reaction & Combos. Optimize your farm by harvesting a single crop and witnessing the chain and combo effects efficiently harvest your entire farm at once. However, meticulous planning in your planting efforts is essential!
Please consider following my Curation page. I cover a wide range of genres both paid and unpaid, providing unbiased opinions as well as regular giveaway events.
Video Review https://youtu.be/YtVf5t_ES64
Fun & Hard To Recommend
So, to be clear, I really like Super Farming Boy. A friend of mine who knows the developer got me interested in playing it, and that connection is what led me to try it out and review it. But don’t go into this expecting another farming simulator in the style of Story of Seasons, Harvest Moon, Stardew Valley, or Rune Factory. Super Farming Boy is something entirely different. What makes Super Farming Boy stand out is its completely different approach to farming. Instead of the slow, traditional progression of most farming sims, it’s a fast-paced and extravagant display of visual effects built around combo systems (mostly the fever mode). The focus isn’t just on growing crops, it’s about pulling off massive combos, optimizing the most profitable plants, and expanding your land to chain even bigger combos. Daily in-game quests push you forward, and the ultimate goal is to earn enough money to buy back your mother from the evil corporation that swooped in, stripped you of your superhero powers, and crushed your farm with taxes. It’s bizarre, over-the-top, and surprisingly charming.
Problems
While the game has a lot of great ideas, it stumbles in one key area: progression. Each season, the corporation shows up to tax your farm. At first, it feels manageable, around 10–20%. But as the seasons roll on, those taxes ramp up to 40%, 60%, even 80%. At that point, it stops being fun. You’re forced to spend almost all your currency before the season ends, which kills the sense of long-term growth when you're trying to save up for something. On top of that, seasonal transitions don’t feel consistent. Unlike other farming sims where each new season resets your crops, here some plants stay, some die, and sometimes they just disappear for no clear reason, often hidden under new logs, rocks, or other obstacles. It makes progression feel more random than rewarding, like it's an artificial time sink. I spent most of the first four seasons just hunting for wood, a key material needed to upgrade the village stores and unlock missions that provide a steady supply of resources. Unlike rocks or other materials, wood is harder to come by and appears randomly, which made early progression feel slow and frustrating. While playing, I mostly stuck to a small section of the plot. You have stamina bars and farming friends to help manage the farm once unlocked and upgraded, and harvesting in combos triggers unique effects, diagonal chains, vertical chains, or outward explosions. They’re fun, but I never got the chance to fully explore the plot or the farm. Early on, days pass so quickly that you’re forced to stick to a simple loop: sleep, wake up, harvest in fever mode, wait, harvest again, sleep. Even later, the cycle barely changes. Right now, in its early access state, this repetitive rhythm dominates the gameplay.
Conclusion
Do I like Super Farming Boy? Absolutely, it’s adorable, relaxing, and genuinely fun. Do I recommend it? That’s a bit more complicated. If you enjoy the heavy repetitive, slow-burn mechanics and don’t mind spending a lot of time building up before you can expand, fight bosses, or make meaningful progress, it might scratch that itch. For me, though, the game still needs more polish and balance to fully shine.
TLDR: A wildly fun farming game with clever combos and quirky charm, but suffers from uneven difficulty and frustrating seasonal mechanics. Super Farming Boy really caught me off guard. I went in expecting a simple farming game and ended up completely hooked. Time flew by while I was playing and I didn’t even notice. The game blends farming with action and puzzle elements in a way that feels fresh and exciting. You don’t use tools like in other farming games. Instead, you become the tools. With one button you can turn into a shovel, a pickaxe, or even fly around your farm. That mechanic alone makes the game feel super dynamic and fun. The combo system is another highlight. Planting crops in the right way can trigger chain reactions that harvest everything at once. It’s satisfying and makes you want to keep experimenting. The seasons are wild too. You don’t just get spring and winter. There’s a radioactive season, a volcanic one, and even an underwater season coming soon. It’s clear the developers had fun with the concept and wanted to break the mold. But the game isn’t perfect. The seasonal cycle loops back to the first season, which makes scoring really hard. Costs start to skyrocket and by the end of each season, taxes take a huge chunk of your earnings. That can feel unfair and discouraging. Some crops are barely useful, especially the ones that only give one harvest. There are also loopholes in the gameplay that make things way too easy if you find them. That creates a weird imbalance. Sometimes the game feels way too hard and other times it’s almost like cheating. There’s no middle ground. The game is still in Early Access, so bugs and balance problems are expected. The devs seem open to feedback and are planning more content like boss fights and new seasons. Even with those issues, I had a great time. The game has a lot of charm and energy. It’s not perfect, but it’s fun enough that I keep coming back. I just hope the developers smooth out the rough edges and fix the balance, because there’s something really special here.
Funny game vaguely in the style of farming games, but with a lot of twists! I've only played a bit and enjoyed it a lot. CONTINUED - I've put plenty of hours into this game and I can see that there are secrets not yet found. I enjoyed the combos very much (once I figured them out). I am waiting for updates and new content!
Thank you so much, LemonChili for providing me with a copy of this game to review! I played the demo back during a Steam Next Fest and was highly intrigued. First and foremost, this game has an addicting play loop. Creating combos is super satisfying and when you go into a "frenzy" it's that times 10, especially if you manage an infinite combo. The aesthetics, like the game-play is unique for the genre. If you love farming sims but don't love the life sim element this could be a great option for you. Having to plant new crops every day can be tedious, but seasons are short, so you only have so much time to set up combos. Each season also provides a new challenge which keeps things interesting. If you're looking to create an aesthetic farm and romance townsfolk, this is not your game. But if you like making strategic combos, encountering unique characters, and immersing yourself in quirky world, I highly recommend.
Super cute and fun take on the genre. For the price of a fast-food meal you should give it a try!
The arte and sound of this game is really good. The UI is cute, totally animated. And i really like the toony style. The concept is new and the mechanics are fresh. As someone that have thrown a lot of hours into farming games, I found this twist interesting, even if it's hard and sometimes goes against what i like doing in farming games. I haven't been able to get a long combo yet because i keep warring with myself in what i do in all the other farming games. But seeing the combos going is really satifsfactory. Although... the season change was quite hard, hard enough that i haven't tried returning again, cuz the new plants are SO WILD to combine. But if you are someone who likes good music, good art, and likes puzzle and reactions, this one is for you!
https://youtu.be/7JoU6L4BNvQ Отличный симулятор фермы с механикой три в ряд (и подобным) для любой аудитории. Смешная мультяшная графика отлично смотрится. В игре не мало механик.
I don't normally play farming games, but this one has such a unique premise, that I couldn't help myself. I tried the demo and instantly fell in love with the game. The art is fantastic and it's one of the most cozy addictive games I've played. So glad I found it and I'm sure it will only get better with time.
This game is just so adorable and quirky! I’m definitely planning to go back and play more, but wow, the crops having their own harvesting system is pretty awesome. And don’t even get me started on the seeds—they’re so PRECIOUS! OMGAWD, I just wish they wouldn’t be so stinking cute! ❤️ The soundtrack and visuals are also really well done, too.
Love at first sight! The vibe and tone are insane. It’s super addictive and incredibly easy to jump into. Never gets boring! And it’s still in early access???!! I played the demo before, but the full version is a done deal for me! The visual feedback is awesome, the story is fun, and the music is on another level. It works perfectly with my Xbox controller AND Steam Deck (touch screen!!)!
