Liminal Shroud is a first-person psychological horror experience driven by atmosphere, not monsters or combat. Set within surreal environments that evoke a twisted sense of nostalgia, your focus is on navigating shifting spaces and concealed routes while piecing together fragments of a mystery woven into the Shroud itself.
By interacting with the spaces and objects around you, you'll uncover and the truth behind the Shroud… hopefully before you become a part of it.
Liminal Shroud has been praised by players for:
Original Environments: Every space is original, handcrafted and deeply atmospheric.
Rewarding Exploration: Discover fragments of a story hidden in the architecture and audio design.
Unsettling Soundscapes: A standout sound design praised by streamers for its intensity and originality.
Analog Horror Aesthetic: A visual style that evokes the 1970s and 80s, amplifying the nostalgic unease.
Flexible Gameplay: There are no timers, enemies, or precision tasks. All the of the puzzles are visual, there is no walls of text, just the minimal UI.
Engage with the world you explore and unlock its secrets. Discover which laws of reality can be broken, but beware... This place doesn't want you to escape!

Hate to have to leave a negative review about the game, but some of the negatives really outweigh the positives of the game. While the environment and style of the levels are really nice and different from other liminal space games, the puzzles put into some of the areas really detract from the value of the environments. Instead of being focused on the environment you end up having your focus dragged away to do some scavenger hunt or other menial puzzle. The biggest offender being the supermarket level. The game also makes a point of there being no monsters which is great and I love with liminal space games. However with the amount of ambient noises meant to scare you and how often they occur, it detracts from the feeling of being alone that an atmospheric liminal game should have. With how often these noises occur, they start off being pretty creepy to getting pretty old and almost annoying the more you play. It is also worth mentioning that at no point do the levels feel really non-linear, so you never get that feeling of being lost. Rarely you'll get one or two alternate paths that just end up meeting just shortly after. While it can feel nice knowing you didn't miss out on any environment, part of the charm of a liminal space game is getting lost trying to take in all the environments it has to offer. Overall I probably would've given this game a solid 8/10 just being a liminal space walking sim game, but after everything it ends up being a 5-6/10.

Absolutely one of my favorite liminal games. The levels are nicely designed with satisfying and fun/easy puzzles, lots of things to look at, it won't put you to sleep with a lot of boring walking, and the bonus is it's a bit spooky. It's a perfect game and this is coming from someone who ACTUALLY plays liminal games and has been gaming since the early 80's. Look at the profiles of people who leave negative reviews, seriously gaming for 5 years and no real reviews and almost no games? It's crazy some of you check that it's helpful, it's not helpful it actually hurts the liminal gaming community because we're going to get less and less games if you can't leave a review that is constructive especially for a dev that is active in the discussions and works hard to make a great game.
My wife was trying to understand why I was screaming. And I kept telling her that a big red bouncy ball scared me, but she didn't get it. Must be because she's not a real gamer like me.
The amount of people who are complaining in the discussions about this game is absolutely sending me. This is a spooky walking simulator first and foremost, but also contains simple puzzle elements. There is a story here if you're really paying attention. Personally, I was tense the ENTIRE time. From the first scene to the last one, I felt incredibly unsafe and uncomfortable. It was incredible. The amount of love poured into this game is extremely evident, and I felt every bit of it. I especially appreciated that the puzzles were simple enough that a dumbass like me understood what was happening and where to go. I only had to restart a chapter once, and that was mostly user stupidity. I loved playing this game and I hope you make more like it!!
Bilibili:https://www.bilibili.com/video/BV1ahtR6mEmu Youtube:https://youtu.be/W6aOy1vypU0
Liminal Shroud is a short but very fun game. I enjoyed the many many tiny details that make the gameplay very fun. It doesn't have any sections of arduous backtracking or wasted time, it understands you're here to play it and not walk around for an hour in one room. The visual and audio design is fantastic, and every single part of the game is an excellent hand-crafted experience. Liminal Shroud is one of those few games where I really feel like it cannot be improved upon, it's a great and cohesive experience with something to say. 8.5/10, let my 248 individual notes while playing the game count towards my enjoyment of all the little quality details put into this game.
Pros: *Excellent graphics - In the same category as "Pools" and "Backrooms: Escape Together". *Sound - Erie and atmospheric; keeping you looking over your shoulder. *Tone and Atmosphere - Definitive haunted house vibes. Cons: *Unlike with other liminal games, at no point did I feel lost or helpless. Overall a very linear experience, with quite small and enclosed levels. *Far too short. Less than 2 hours, with only liberal use of sprinting and with plenty of looking around to soak up the atmosphere. *I found the Supermarket level annoying as it felt a little like a chore. Overall. this is a recommendation but feel like it needed longer levels and maybe a grander and more epic final act. If you like high fidelity liminal space games with some basic puzzles, this should be purchased.
Absolutely loved it; as someone who is total scaredycat when it comes to horror games this was the perfect experience. This was the first time I was able to just enjoy the environment and despite there being several fun scare moments, much of it was just so peaceful. 10/10 for what it is, just wish I had more to play! ALSO. Some of the visuals and cinematic moments are just gorgeous, if the devs ever want to make a story game with dialogue it could be huge. hmu for VA ;) <3
An Amazing Liminal Space Backrooms experience. Many beautiful levels with a fantastic creepy Liminal atmosphere. I have followed the game from the very start playing the demo and then the updated demo and the full release did not disappoint:) Loved it 10/10 Full gameplay - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XNkK7rXNLW0&t=2245s
An amazing and at times Disney imagineer-esq experience but much more spooky. Definitely not on the scary end of these type of games but, a whole lot of fun. I haven't enjoyed a liminal space game this much since Pools.
