I liked the game overall but you have to take into consideration it is an indie game. It is not a complicated game but it also doesn't need to be, it's good in it's own right (if that makes sense). I enjoyed the puzzles, not too difficult but challenging enough that when it clicks I went "yes, got it". The Panic Rooms are exactly that
many times I misclicked on the startbutton and barely making it in on time ;-)
Really loved the world and the story. When I finished the game my first thoughts were "Sequel when?"
if you are after an FPS game that fuses Horror ambience and puzzles then this game is a must have! Albeit it is a simple Game from a Solo Developer i must say that i am impressed with the lore and detail that is in this game! are there a few downsides yes there is but that is the same with all games (including AAA games). a few patch updates would fix some things and change a few things around like the Tab Button which brings up "quests" could be changed so its easier to track which quest you are doing as well as implementing an options part to the tab button to change volume and ETC mid game. An Auto save Feature may be handy but that's my opinion. as well as visible changes to the pistol and machine gun when you level them up and there is a skin in the game that would be cool for the pistol!. But overall i would recommend this game to any one as it is a fun game filled with puzzles and lore and a few anxiety inducing moments and chases (limerick in a bumper car). Thank you Jenito Studios for an an amazing game! Geen86
Only 4 hours in and having a blast so far! Lot of puzzles to solve, interesting dark limericks, an interesting world, and a few good jumpscares too! Definitely looking forward to playing more soon!
I was so excited to receive a copy of this from the game developers. Truly glad to get a chance to play the whole game and am enjoying the chance to stream it online. ^-^ Honest review: Pros: The dark spooky atmosphere really shows in the game, I am using a controller and I'm glad they added difficulty levels. The Puzzle System is inventive and relatively simple to understand, though one puzzle in the circus of rage confused me a tiny bit, but depending on the mode you play, you can skip some or even all puzzles. (I've only skipped one so far) The various monsters give a chance at the beginning to learn simple battle tactics, while later enemies challenge your stealth skills. Cons: One thing I had a bit of difficulty with was aiming and collision, as sometimes using psychic blasts when it looked like I had a clear shot, could clip the edge of doors and objects, which was a tiny bit frustrating with limited ammo. Sometimes if I died in an area, like before a boss fight, it would replay the same instructions repeatedly, sometimes it helped but a lot of times I knew it and just wished to progress (luckily you can skip it fairly quickly so its not that bad). Overall, quite a well made game and I am enjoying it immensely. 10/10
Limerick: Cadence Mansion borrows on the classic design of Myst and The 7th Guest by creating a visually stunning 3D world to explore, discovering and solving dozens of puzzles, and actually engaging in some combat. There is a bit of resource gathering that feeds into crafting upgrades for your weapons and abilities, but for the most part this is pure adventure and puzzle-solving with brief moments of self-defense. And the puzzles are no joke either. Some are easy, some will require a bit of thought, and others will melt your brain until you Google the solution. Thankfully, Limerick allows you to tailor the game to your desired experience with one of the first questions having you choose from Proofreader (normal), Essayist (easy), and Master of Writ (hard). This mostly determines how many puzzles you can bypass in both the regular game and during Limerick combat. Yes, this game actually blends puzzles into the actual boss fights. I’ll admit to pulling that Skip Puzzle lever on more than a few occasions, not because the puzzles were too hard but rather annoying or time consuming – something you don’t want in a game with a focus on puzzles. There are only so any puzzle ideas to go around, and while everything here is totally original from a design and artistic standpoint, many of the core mechanics to many of the puzzles are common ideas found in countless other puzzle games or even mini games from larger titles like Tomb Raider and Uncharted.
