The gameplay on all these games does get to be a bit repetitive. The graphics aren't exactly cutting edge anymore, though the texture work is pretty nice during some cut scenes. But the core of the gameplay loop is just fun. The story is nonsense like always, and there are plenty of ridiculous things to do. If you like the Yakuza series, there's a lot to like here. I've played them all, and this fits right in with the rest. If you want a fun action RPG, this is a great one to play.

Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii — I'm still in the early hours and already loving it! I came in with a slight bias, since Majima has always been my all-time favorite character since Yakuza 0 and Kiwami 2 — mostly because of how complex, intelligent, cunning, and unhinged yet truly honorable he is. It's a fascinating contrast to the classic boy-scout archetype that Kiryu represents, always morally righteous and clean-handed. Majima is flawed, and that's precisely what makes him feel realistic and genuinely empathetic — a perfect choice as a playable main character, and honestly the main reason I bought this game. The naval combat is a solid 10/10 — not bloated, not overly realistic like Assassin's Creed: Black Flag, just pure chaotic fun. The treasure raids were an absolute blast, and the new locations and characters are deeply engaging. Unfortunately, I have to subtract one star — not for the music, graphics, story, or gameplay, but for SEGA's intentional mistranslations. As someone with a working knowledge of Japanese, I noticed a significant number of deliberate mistranslations throughout, causing much of the dialogue to feel off and disconnected from the source material. After investigating, I found that the official translators were activists infected with the woke mind virus and not genuine fans of the game or Japanese culture, which has already been documented across multiple articles. It's a genuinely unfortunate situation that mars an otherwise excellent experience.
Edit: I can't give this a thumbs down... It's a Yakuza game. It's gonna be ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ and I just need to accept it for what it is. I'm on the fence with this one. On one hand, it's crazy and over the top, exactly what you expect from a Yakuza game. However, I haven't laughed once and I'm really disliking having someone's 10y/o son commenting on everything and following me into bars and whorehouses. Majima walking past dudes in gimp suits on all fours like nothing is happening while the kid is all doe-eyed with his pet tiger cub. I dunno, it just feels wrong on so many levels and I have no clue if it'll keep happening.
Not necessarily the best RGG Game, but it makes up for it with it lighthearted goofyness and Majima's cool fighting styles and of course his outstanding personality. Definitely not the most serious game in the series, but it's a good way to wind down after the serious tone of Infinite Wealth.
Pretty good for a side story. Beat Samoa Joe for the One Piece title and everything.

Its pretty entertaining if you have adhd brain and just wanna hammer out minigames and do pirate stuff. Idk what the story is about but the parts I didnt skip over were very well made.
Siento que mejoraron muchisimas cosas en temas de combate a comparacion de las anteriores entregas de la saga yakuza. Se siente mas libre mas rapido y hasta salta que aqui en este juego se aplico por primera vez. La historia no es mala me gusto mucho pero siento que ya mucha ficcion le pusieron. Los anteriores yakuzas eran mas juegos serios y me atraian mas la atencion pero desde el yakuza 7 o (yakuza like a dragon) es entre parodia y madura. Antes habia mas equilibrio en ello pero ahora mas esta para el lado de lo absurdo y parodico que entregas anteriores. Las mecanicas de los barcos tambien es agradable y me recuerda mucho al assassins creed 4. Si recomiendo este juego pero en oferta.
